Kansas State 75 Kentucky 69 (NCAA Tournament)

Tough loss. When the Cats do not shoot the ball well they just are not a very good team. They were out shot on both 2's and 3's and had twice as many turnovers. Then add that Toppin only scored two points and Reeves 5 points on 1-15 and 1-10 from 3. I will miss Oscar he is one of my all-time favorite Wildcats! If we had others play with his heart and effort could have done great things!

Heart and effort was not an issue.

I take responsibility for this. I said in the other thread UK usually wins and loses based off how Reeves shoots. When he has an off day we usually struggle and unfortunately that is what happened.

Turnovers and ice cold shooting from Reeves and Toppin is why we lost.

Oscar is one of my favorite all-time players. Great kid - great character - great player - great teammate! We will all miss him. The Nowell kid is the biggest difference in the 2 teams. Stud point guard is a difference maker in the Big Show. If only Reeves could have thrown it in a 55-gallon drum today. What ifs galore in this loss.

When a team let's the point guard beat them the entire game off the dribble, no doubles, no forcing that opponent point guard to give the ball up, who’s fault is that? Sure our shooting wasn’t good but to let the opponent point guard make fun of your defense for an entire game with no adjustments, totally unacceptable.

And no answer for K State's point guard.

They also added 8 or so points at the end with free throws. UK gave them a lot of points off turnovers too. Their pg was great and made some huge plays. However, the turnovers is the big thing they helped them score. Without the turnovers, Kentucky wins pretty easily and Kansas State barley cracks 60.

They lost because of turnovers. Without those turnovers and free throws they added in the final minute. Kansas state barely cracks 60.

Turnovers and cold shooting is why they lost.
