1994 Boone County.  Shaun Alexander's senior year and they were 14-0 and ranked in top 25 in the nation before losing to Trinity in the championship game.

  • The 2002 Mason County team. Running clocked the AA state champs that year. Lost by 7 in a frigid battle in Ft Thomas for the semis.

1996 was my first season at Mason, and Dayton gave us our first loss. Kicked our tails good. At Paris, we played Dayton in the first round of the playoffs, 1993. We got them, but they gave us all we w

2019 Frederick Douglass finished 14-1 losing to a great Covington Catholic team who went 15-0 and had one of the best high schools players I have ever seen in Michael Mayer. The Broncos lost 14-7 in a very good game. During the season the Douglass defense only allowed 98 points in 15 games. They running clocked 8 of their 10 opponents with 8 of there 10 games being shutouts. They also had two running clocks in the playoffs as well as another shutout. Their offense scored 612 points. They had two players to get full rides to D1 Power 5 schools. Walker Parks to Clemson and Devin Neal to Baylor. They also would have had Dekel Crowdus who had went to IMG Academy in Florida for the 2019 season.

2003 Paducah Tilghman, was 13-0 before losing to Boyle co.

97 Highlands. Loaded team. Up 28-7 right before half when the monsoon really got going. Then lost the mud bowl to a team they destroyed earlier in the year.

Destroyed maybe a be the wrong term. Didn't CovCath miss a last second FG that would've tied or won the game?

I know you’re just mentioning SR on that team but that team was loaded with additional college players from Power 5 to other D1 schools. It took a few snaps to settle in that game which made the difference. That an of course Mayer.

Extremely talented team.

That team was tough and full of stud players. I remember BC jumped out on them early 21-0, and things looked like they might get out of hand for PT. In the blink of an eye, Joe Casey ripped off three head-spinning TDs, and suddenly at the half, the game was 21-21. They were one of the best teams I have ever witnessed, and I believe, without a doubt, they would be the 3A champion if not for that Boyle team. BC shut Casey and company down after halftime and came away with a 35-21 victory. Side note that is the second coldest I have ever been in my life.

I can't imagine being any colder than that night.   We have a saying at ballgames that are cold. "It's cold, but not Paducah Tilghman cold"!

The only time I was ever colder was training in Ft. Dix New Jersey in the winter.

We played Highlands that night in the snow. Since we were further north, had to be colder in Fort Thomas.  ?

Due to the time difference (Central to Eastern) the cold front had to have hit us first. I don't believe this is very sound logic but it sounded good in my head.
