A little off topic here but with HD TV, replay, and multiple camera angles I think it is pretty clear that humans are mediocre at best officiating football.

I honestly think they do the best they can, but when you have 8 people watching 22 humans that are getting bigger, faster, stronger, and more athletic by the day, you are going to miss quite a bit. Throw in the crowd noise (not sure if yesterday's telecast was fully capturing how loud it was), it can go sideways at times.

Bates was in perfect position to take away the flag route, but Mahomes and Kelce simply do what they do and improvised. My point was in that situation everyone in the stadium knew who he was looking for to me that would have been a good time to double just like the Chiefs started doing with Chase and Higgins and leaving Hurst and Irwin one on one. A double there would have took away the flag route as Bates did then you would have had help on the inside. I just think Kelce could have been doubled more especially in key situations especially when their other starting receivers went down with injuries. That's true sometimes great players just make great plays like the Mahomes scramble at the end that is just a great player making a great play when his team needed him.

I'm with you.  I was just responding to the post in regards to what fans are complaining about, and those were pics friends had sent me this morning.

I'm of the mindset that a game, in this case football, is 60 minutes long with numerous plays.  One call/play does not determine the outcome of a game.  

The play of the game not getting talked about at all is the poor punt by Chrisman.  Why punt the ball to the returner with that little time left on the clock?

The average NFL game has over 150 plays.  With 22 players to watch every time, that’s in the neighborhood of 3200 individual “player-plays” to track over the course of a 60-minute game.
 

Is “player-plays” a thing?  If not, I got dibs on intellectual property rights.  

Another sad thing about the play by Ossai at the end is a lot of people will overlook that he had played really, really well.

Overall, I didn’t think the defense was as good as they’ve been all season, but they held Mahomes to 2 TD. That should be plenty. Offense has to score with 2:00 left.

Don’t believe that is true if receiver in the area.  They said Perine was not in area of the ball.  The screen passes that Burrow threw in the dirt were not beyond the line of scrimmage.  You are stating what the official said postgame and Romo said during broadcast.  It was a weak call in a big moment of the game.

Then clocking it late should be a penalty. 

Clocking it is an exception to the rule in NFHS, I’d assume the same in the NFL. I agree last night shouldn’t have been grounding. The issue with NFL officials is they’re so afraid to miss a call they over officiate, get in their own head (they won’t admit it) and end up going to both extremes instead of staying close to the middle. If the fudge up the hurts their post season assignments, and if they fudge up in the postseason it hurts their assignments for next year or if they’re even retained as an nfl official. Officiating paranoid (sub- consciously) is not a good deal. Common sense can take you way further than rules knowledge.

It’s 4th and 1. I think it’s hard to double someone deep when you also have to be prepared to stop a possible run in that scenario. I would assume they probably would have had multiple guys helping in the short area on him. Just simply a good play by the Chiefs.

But the receiver is also behind the LOS when that happens.
