2025-2026 Football Realignment

An example of that would be Boyle just went on a 3 peat and was playing up the whole time. Should’ve been 3A the last alignment. Top of page 3 from the link.

Boyle County was one of the teams that came to mind when I was talking about a team winning multiple championships. Boyle could play up to 6A and be a factor or even win it.

I am going to say no on winning 6A.

You don´t think Boyle could have won 6A this past year?

I agree with Guru. I am not saying Boyle County couldn't win 6A last year, but they would be a long shot pick.

- St. X, Trinity and Bullitt East all finished ahead of Boyle Co. in the final calpreps.com rankings.

- Boyle County's SOS wasn't even in the top 15 last year.

- Boyle got blasted by calpreps #1 Frederick Douglass. Douglass is 5A but it is an indicator of playing         one of the top tier teams of 2022.

- Finally, score comparisons are barely worth considering IMO, but St. X beat Bowling Green 31-0 and   Boyle beat Bowling Green 35-21. Just one game and by far the least significant factor in this list.

All of that combined makes Boyle Co. a long shot at best to win 6A last year. I don't see Boyle County making it through the 6A gauntlet and winning a title last year.

Thanks for doing the heavy lifting VoR.  I agree Boyle could have but I think it would have been highly unlikely.  And the only thing I will add is that Boyle won a very close game over Corbin to win the 4A title which doesn't exactly say to me Boyle could or would have won 6A.

I think Boyle would’ve won 6A 2021 and could’ve competed for it last year.

Boyle County 2003 would have been a contender in the old 4A (biggest class).

The 2000 Rebels were crazy good. I believe that was when Brohm was at Trinity and Bush at Male. I know that sounds like a stretch, but that was a special team as well.

Four classes. When Kentucky football was at its best.

Coach, I like the subtle flex - intentional or not - of picking a year and week where your Royals were #3. ? ?

Probably not intentional, but it still made me smile.

Absolutely intentional and not subtle!  Lol

I always thought it was funny that we only talk about travel distance in football.  So many Kentucky high school baseball teams travel to South Carolina or Florida every year for tournaments.   Likewise, many Kentucky boys and girls basketball teams travel crazy distances for Holiday Tournaments every December.  But, when we make new football alignments, travel distance is important.

I agree I feel like we worry way to much about travel.

To me FD was the best team in the state last year.

I know it was early in the season but BE did lose to Spencer County. And Boyle´s win over BG was close to say margin as FD beat them by. I know comparing scores gets iffy at best. Not saying Boyle could win 6A but I believe they would be in the mix. And a yeah then the big 3 of X,T, and Male were not a dominated as in recent years.

I just like seeing some teams outside of those three win it. Football is a lot more interesting when you don’t know who’s going to win it all before the season even starts or at least the two or three teams that it’s between. It’s far more exciting the more teams you have that could win it.
