A tough loss but the Cats just did not do the things down the stretch a good team needs to do to close out the game. Maybe we can rebound and knock off Gonzaga on Sunday, however after tonight I'm not seeing it. Also, right now this team is not very good without Tshiebwe on the court.

UK just played the team to double OT that was basically beating Gonzaga all game until the very end just a few days ago in MSU. If anything based off tonight’s result and the result of MSU game against Gonzaga, there is no reason to think UK won’t be right there against Gonzaga. 
 

With that said, and as you mentioned. Simply make a few more free throws and you win this game without ever going to any OT. 

I feel like I’m watching a big game movie on repeat. 

Missing FTs in crucial situations is a Cal thing. Has been since UMass and cost them the title at Memphis and against Uconn. Also Kansas State and Auburn games recently. He is the worst ever in game coach in the country and has been. He refuses to take guys out in situations they shouldn’t be playing.

That sucked losing that game, but I think MSU will end up being a lot better of a team than most expected. Especially when looking at how well they played their last two games against Gonzaga and UK. 
 

UK felt like they were controlling most of the game throughout and that was without their two best shooters doing much at all. Not to mention Toppin being in foul trouble a lot in this game, that allowed Houser to get going. 
 

What really sucks is two of UKs guards in Wallace and Wheeler had really good games and made big plays throughout most of the game that should have led to a win. However, now most people will remember the end. First with Wallace needing to make his free throws, when he twice blew a chance to go up by 3 at the end. Then Wheeler who played a good game and first OT, reverted back in the second OT to a guy that was trying to do to much and hurt them. Until the second OT he had played under control really well. 
 

The loss sucks, but for me there is a lot to like with this team and look forward to. Now I will let our usual posters have their normal fun after a loss. 

Whole lot of ugly, especially going to OT twice because of defensive collapses made by experienced players (Oscar & Fredrick).  Free throw shooting was bad down the stretch.  Costly turnovers by Wallace & Wheeler, plus a couple of misses on good looks by Toppin.

Our two "shooters" gave us a combined 10 points on 3-14 FG shooting and 2-9 3's.

Free throw shooting got UK again.

What if our “Two best shooters” are what they are? Can we quit making excuses (like Cal in a press conference) and just say we as fans want to win these games? I as a fan want to win these games not just use them for good competition. I agree, MSU shouldve been ranked (will be now) and will be a very good team this year. Our offense is the same ole same ole, runs weave or hold the ball until the last possible moment or the other team has a defensive break down. How can we support a coach that refuses to run inbound plays? Izzy had two ready to go that lead to the first OT.

True, let’s not support a coach who has brought more final fours than any other coach to UK besides Rupp. Tom Izzo is definitely a great X and O coach, but yet UK fans would also try to run him out of here as quick as possible with his only one title since 2000, and many losses during the regular season too. 
 

I do agree they do need to start winning these type of games though. They need to type of confidence back of where they are going to just go out and win no matter who they play.
