Agreed. Scott County executes their offense so well. Then when you throw in the fact that no NKY really plays against anyone that runs that offense, it’s just makes it so tough to stop. Holding Scott County to just 29 points is a win in my book, because as you mentioned the score should have been worse. Holding them to 29 gave them a chance at the end.

It should now be in the bottom half of the bracket next week Woodford Co. 11-1 at Frederick Douglass 12-0 and Southwestern 12-0 at Scott Co. 11-1.

According to the Scott Co. radio guys this was the Cardinals 5th straight win over the Bluebirds.

Yup.

I tried to explain this in the thread leading up to the game. 
 

The defense is tough and physical. When HHS attacked the safeties and went at a faster tempo it caused problems. They did have more success on the ground then I expected. Faster tempo and things might of been different.  Especially since Scott CO’s D was on the field a lot early. 
 

Once Scott Co settled in and stopped doing some of the less traditional stuff things were more consistent on for them. They aren’t as fast as former Scott Co teams but those body blows start to wear on you. The kind of freak play on the safety and fumble right before half hurt. I don’t understand faking the pass to the wing after handing off on Belly. You will never throw that pass. Once Scott Co showed they were willing to throw it opened things up more. 
 

HHS did a very good jump of making Power bounce. Past the first time they ran Belly Sweep HHS did a very good job against it. Good job of getting their DT rotated in to keep guys fresh there too.

Mannnnnnnn. The wing T strikes again. Those boys are on a ROLL.

Highlands starts with a turnover. Then conservative play calling put them in a hole. Defense couldn’t get off the field all night. Tonight was the night you needed to play run stoppers at corner!
 

Highlands was out coached. Dale beats that team by 3 TD’s minimum. What’s with the big gathering on the field after the game? It’s over. Get in the locker room. 

Been a lot of places. I am not sure there is a better home environment in Kentucky than the one I saw at Highlands tonight. Hat tip to the Birds and the Bird faithful. Back to Georgetown!

Congrats Scott County!  Good season for Highlands after stumbling out of the gate.

It was a great 5A playoff game.  It was a very hard hitting, high energy game that was fun to watch… a truly great high school football game.  The refs?  These teams were evenly matched and it could have gone either way!   Congrats to Coach McKey!  
 

Next year the state is going to have deal with a new and improved Highlands program that could be very very good.
