I find it refreshing that Cooper is being talked about as a real threat to knock off CovCath. The blue Colonels have been so heavy handed in their rule of the Jags.

Neither offense looks refined enough for this to be a shootout. I think a low scoring game favors Cooper. The longer the game stays close, the more the perennial underdog's chances of winning increases. At least that's how it always feels to me.

I'll take CovCath, but I do so with as little confidence as I've had in them in a few years.

I think Cooper comes to Park Hills and ruins the Colonels' Homecoming weekend.   I like the Jags' team speed to exploit the Colonels on the perimeter.

I think we will see a new CCH team tonight.  As long as the defense wraps up a very good running back from Cooper, I see a W tonight for the Colonels.  Positive energy flowing in Park Hills.  Go Colonels!

After seeing Cooper up close against Ryle, this Cooper team is good.... With an extra week to prepare, I think they go to CCH and pull out a win. 20-14 Jags.

A lot of teams in NKY have struggled to play consistently. Cooper is definitely much improved, and the result against Ryle is an obvious example of that. When they had the cross-town rivalry pushing them, Cooper hung with Ryle and only lost 14-7, and Cooper's offense actually out-gained Ryle's offense by 9 yards in that game.

If you look at things the week before Ryle, Cooper beat Dixie by 9, and Cov Cath beat Dixie two weeks later by 16. Dixie had 204 yards off offense against the Jags, and 148 yards of offense against the Colonels.

Cooper's defense has been holding their opponents to an average 166 yards per game (high was Ryle's 225yds, low was George Rogers Clark's 95yds), while Cov Cath's offense has been averaging 263 yards per game (low was 177yds against Elder, high was 365yds against Lex Cath.)

Cov Cath's defense has been holding their opponents to an average 269 yards per game (high was Lex Cath's 366yds, low was Dixie's 148yds) while Cooper's offense has been averaging 339 yards per game (low 251yds against Ryle, high was 451yds against Campbell County.)

Cooper's offense is averaging 23 points per game, while Cov Cath's is averaging 21. Cooper's defense is holding opponents to an average 7 points per game, while Cov Cath's is holding opponents to an average 22.

All of that said, I don't think this game sticks to the law of averages. I think the Colonels take the field with a major chip on their shoulder tonight after losing a grudge-match to Beechwood last week and they put together a solid game at home. Colonels win it tonight by at least a pair of touchdowns.
