Logan County 29 Franklin-Simpson 27

Logan County wins a great game with a late field goal. FS started out strong with an opening possession TD. Then they stopped Logan County and drove almost 90 yards after being pinned deep by a Cougar punt. On 4th and 4 at the LC 8, FS tried a pass but the QB threw as he was being tackled and LC picked it off and ran it all the way back. It was back and forth the rest of the night from there. Logan County got the ball trailing 27-26 with over 8 minutes remaining and wisely milked the clock, scoring with just over a minute to go. FS came up short on 4th down at midfield at the end. 

First victory by Logan County over Franklin-Simpson in about 30 years. I don’t have the stats in front of me but I do remember them beating FS once when I was in high school, maybe 1990 or so. This is the best team that I can ever remember for the Cougars. Coach Adler is doing a great job there.

Just the second time Logan County has beaten Franklin-Simpson, with the other a 26-6 win at Logan County in 1992. They hadn’t been closer than 14 since. Franklin-Simpson had won 18 in a row over the Cougars.
