16thBBall Fan Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Final. What a game by the Bucs especially on defense. Who would have thought they would kept the Chiefs offense out of the endzone the entire game. 1
Randy Parker Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Brady is the GOAT and will be MVP. Deservedly so. But that was total team domination. I also liked the halftime show. The guy running on the field was great. Beavis and Butthead was my favorite commercial. 1
futurecoach Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 The GOAT just keeps eating. Brady still doesn’t look like he is even close to slowing down either. 1

Mustang Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 I had it half right. Predicted Kansas City winning in a blow out in the predictions thread. 1
TheDeuce Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Can’t wait to hear about how bad Mahomes played. 1
Jumper_Dad Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Tampa D abused the KC O-line all night, that pretty much sealed the deal. Brady played great and deserves all the accolades he receives. Chiefs defense shot themselves in the foot with penalties. I think at least 3 scoring drives maybe 4 by the Bucs came after they were stopped, but given new life through penalties.

His receivers missed a couple of catches that could have kept them in the game at the time. He wasn't as accurate as he normally is.
DragonFire Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Mahomes definitely didn't look good. Missing his two tackles probably didn't help him, but Tampa has a strong defense and played a good scheme. It was probably the worst game of Mahomes' career to this point. Certainly, in fact. This was the first game since 2017 that Kansas City didn't score a touchdown, and first since that same game that they didn't reach double digits. It was awful for them.

bugatti Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Is there anything worse than a bad Super Bowl? One thing Brady has always delivered on is a close championship game. This was like Rocky III. KC won the first bout, but the Bucs knocked them out early in the rematch. Typically Rocky comes down to the wire. I think I said it last week that this would be a tough rematch for the Chiefs. You don't lose both starting tackles and plug in a guard along the way and expect to hold up against a ferocious pass rush. Thing is, the Bucs really didn't blitz all that much. However, they brought pressure from all different angles, didn't let Hill get deep, and forced Mahomes to run in circles all night. He was pressured an astounding 29 times! That is super rare. 27 came against a pass rush of four or fewer defenders. I read some odd next gen stat that Mahomes ran a total of 497 yards scrambling before his attempts. That is the most of any QB this season. Brady was just steady Eddie all night, nothing spectacular (the Chiefs actually gained more yards in the end), and so for that he won his fifth Super Bowl MVP.... since awards are so slanted towards the QB. But someone on the defense deserved the award. To hold the Chiefs, as decimated as they were, to nine points is the more amazing feat. 1

I think Tampa's defense and the Chiefs OL injuries had something to do with that. For a 43 year old Brady's reaction time and decision making under pressure are remarkable.
theguru Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 I understand the logic but I hate that the cameras/NFL cut away from episodes like this: 1 1
