Beechwood 62 Bishop Brossart 52

Recommended Posts

At the end of the 3rd, 48-27 Beechwood.  This one was more lopsided than the final score shows.  IMO, Brossart isn’t nearly the team they were in ‘19-‘20.  The big - Govan Is a nice player and The guard #2 can score.  Otherwise, they didn’t have much.  They’re on the smaller size overall, minus Govan, and struggle defensively.  Athletically, two totally different teams here tonight.

Yes, the scoreboard was very kind to us.

Missing from the lineup which defeated the Tigers in Alexandria a year ago were the 33 points combined from Ethan Eilerman, now graduated, who put up 22 and Carson Schirmer, a present senior out with a wrist injury, who contributed 21.

Stephen Verst (#2) matched Scotty Draud with 20 points each, and Brossart big man, Junior David Govan scored 15.

While maybe not up to the par of the 2019-20, 25-7 Mustangs, with the return of Schirmer, the dimension will be added that should re-ignite some memories of that team.

Verst and Govan were both very impressive last night. Very impressed with their efforts, especially in the 2nd half. Warriors.

Fantastic effort by Scotty Draud last night. 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Efficient effort from a fantastic player.

Also of note, sophomore Cameron Boyd making his first varsity start finished with 8 points in 20 minutes, including an impressive STRONG rebound/stickback in the second half. He's a rising star in NKY.

A very efficient win for the Tigers.  Good defensive effort and a much more balanced approach on offense.  Draud had 20, combined with Downton's 9, Rolf's 9, Decker's 7, (all seniors) and the sophmore Boyd's 8 pts made for really good team win.  Senior and KY Mr. Football was the 6th man and played well.  Chemistry looks much improved.  16 total assists from 7 different players.  A much different looking team than last year.
