This is the first game of the Rebel Bowl.

LCA is coming off a 35-13 defeat to Boyle County. Starting QB Saxton Howard was a bright spot for the Eagles as he had 10 carries for 147 yards and 2 TDs. Jackson Dillow led the way with receiving with 2 catches for 24 yards. The Eagles are led by their OL, but are currently strapped at the QB position. Hunter Adams led the way on defense with 9 tackles, a sack, and a TFL. Mac Darland also added 7 tackles.

Franklin County pulled the big surprise of Week 1. A lot of people were flying high with the Scott County Cardinals as the biggest threat to challenge Bowling Green and Franklin upended them 26-6. There aren't stats up yet for that game, but hopefully someone can chime in more on that one. I do know it was 20-0 I believe at the half, so seems like that game was never in doubt.

Does Franklin shut down another team with a strong run game? Does Doug Charles and LCA get their first win on the year? Who we got, and why?

  • First drive Franklin 3 and out.  LCA drives punches it in to go up 7-0.    Franklin has it inside the 10.

  • Christian Moore TD. 2 point is good. Franklin leads 8-7 with 3:07 in first.

28-14 Franklin Co. Watching LCA in person yesterday,  they don't have any athletes. Yes, the line can mow you down, but LCA doesn't currently have any gamebreakers.

Surprised this game isn't getting more traction this week.  Possible semi-finalists in their respective classes early in the season.  Pretty big game for week 2. (or officially week 1 per KHSAA) I agree that LCA doesn't really have a lot of star power on the offensive side of the ball this year, but their defense isn't bad, especially against the run and that's what Franklin seems to butter their bread with.  I give the edge to Franklin by one score, but I think this game goes down to the wire.

Also worth noting, the poll for this post has Bryan Station listed instead of Franklin County.....and 1 person voted for them!

Franklin County wins comfortably.

This game is a part of our Pick 5 Contest:

Didn't they go away from the Week 0 name? It's Week 1 through Week 11 in the regular season now.

I did not know that.  Good!

Will either team stream this game?

Anyone?

It’s the 1st game at Boyle County’s Bowl Games. Boyle usually streams but I have not seen anything yet.

I'll go with the Flyers by 14 in this one.  The Flyer defense is legit and the offense does have some power and some speed.  Go Flyers!!

I'm going to go with LCA by 3. I think this game could be more of a defensive battle.

I cannot find a link for the stream. If anyone has it, please share.
