Russell at Fleming County Predictions/Updates

The Red Devils (2-0) check in at #5 in this week's BGP 3A rankings as they prepare to travel to Flemingsburg to clash with a familiar foe. Russell has rolled through the first two weeks of the season with its typically stingy defense and a more balanced approach on offense. Charlie Jachimczuk and Nathan Conley lead the charge for the Devils, with sophomore Carson Patrick maturing into a big play threat at receiver.

Fleming County (0-1) has a big time target of its own, in the form of 6'4" junior Logan Pinkley. He caught one of QB Zeke Conn's four touchdown passes last week against East Carter. The Panthers were unable to hold on to their two touchdown advantage over the Raiders at halftime, and eventually fell in overtime, 36-34.

With the exception of 2007 and 2008, these former district mates have met every year since 1991, with Russell holding a commanding 26-4 lead in the series. Though, two of those wins for Fleming have come in the last five years (2015 and 2017). Can they make it three wins in six years or will Russell make it three straight in the series and extend the overall series lead?
