From what I heard the first two episodes provided a lot of background and now we start getting into more of the footage, which we haven't yet gotten much of a glimpse of.

 

In aura and mystique, Michael Jordan is in a class by himself still to this day. This documentary was at the top of news headlines today. Ain't no other athlete moving the needle like that.

I saw the first episode and am taping the rest. The first episode was OK, not great IMO. If I were not sports-starved, I would probably not go out of my way to watch the series.

I believe the next two episodes are Rodman and Phil Jackson centric.

Completely agree with you. There were several on social media last saying the same and sharing their pictures side by side. Never thought it before today but definitely do now.

Just finished episode 1. Honestly, there is no way they could screw this up for me. I'm just too big a fan of that team and that era. So many kids my age were just bandwagon fans for the Jordan Bulls, but honestly, how could you blame us?

Prince's Partyman is my favorite music usage so far.

I have loved it so far. I found it interesting hearing Reporters and even Jordan himself saying how people questioned how great he was, since his teams weren’t winning titles like a Bird and Magic. It kind of makes it similar to what we heard about LeBron early in his career.

 

They both also had teams standing in their way they had to get passed. For Jordan it was the Pistons and for LeBron it was the Celtics. The biggest difference obviously being MJ stayed and they all just seemed to work harder to eventually get by them. While LeBron took his talents to South Beach to team with other all stars so he could get by Boston.

Really liked the first 4 episodes. Liked parts 3 and 4 better than 1 and 2. Loved hearing from Ron Harper on the Cleveland game 5 shot. Loved Jordan's take on Ehlo guarding him..

 

Favorite music so far, LL "I'm bad."

 

Jordan has used the headache story a few times over the years, he may have even mentioned it in his HOF speech.

I think I liked episodes 3 & 4 more as well. Dennis Rodman was such a special player and boy is he lucky that he had Chuck Daly and Phil Jackson as his coaches.

My thing with last night's episode is we have seen all the Bad Boys Pistons and Dennis Rodman stuff is recent features. Not as if it was a deeper dive than normal.

 

I saw a few tweets about it and I agree... I would like an in-depth feature on Dennis's 48+ hour hiatus during the middle of the season. It could be its own Netflix mini-series. Starts with Dennis playing, his mind goes into the gutter, and Phil giving him permission to leave. That's episode one. We meet Carmen Electra and party is up with her. That's episode two. And so on. Last episode is Jordan knocking on his hotel door and the Bulls bring home the title.

I agree with what Ryan Russillo said on the Bill Simmons podcast... All Rodman talks about is how he’s misunderstood. Never attempts to go beyond that. This was more of the same in episode 3.

It's clear Rodman has some issues and it's also clear he's never addressed them with a professional. I don't think it's as much about him being "different" as it is why he is that way. Basketball was a way for him to get away from whatever it was he was dealing with.
