Maybe I am wrong, but doesn't KHSAA get a cut from playoff games? I believe that is how it use to be, but my knowledge goes back 15+ years.

The host schools collect the money and are charged with paying the travel expenses of the visiting school and is able to keep the remainder. For many schools, after they pay the travel expenses, they are in the hole for first round games because of mismatched games like this that hardly draw any spectators.

The KHSAA keeps all the money from the State Championship games only.

Why RPI a big deal in future scheduling due to the big 3rd & 4th round matchups that will get big gate at home. Male going to get good gate this year with potential 3rd & 4th round matchups.

Thanks for all the information.

Financially a forfeit probably best for all. I have said it in other threads, we have a bunch of morons in KHSAA.

Trinity JV players will get plenty of reps in this game.

In all reality, the JV should be the only ones even playing in this game and it’d still be a running clock.

How is it that these two teams are playing in a playoff game anyway?

7 tds and a safety for the Rocks. 51-0.

Why do people get bent out of shape over a 50-6 football playoff game but say nothing about a 20-1 baseball playoff game or a 80-20 basketball playoff game?

My guess would be that typically, by the time you get to a basketball game requiring this much travel for a 80-20 score, you're expecting the game to be closer. With baseball being a game of failures, being able to predict a 20-1 blowout would be difficult. Football is generally more predictable and unexpected outcomes from teams with starkly contrasting record are fewer and farther between. Couple that with the long travel time involved in this particular matchup and it's understandable. There will be a lot of money shelled out on travel, security, officials, etc; and there will be miniscule crowd in attendance.

Marshall Co. is in District 1 that has 5 teams, and Trinity is in District 5 with 3 teams, so 5th place team in District 1 plays #1 team in District 5. This ensures both districts have 4 teams for playoffs.

Kids aren't getting physically punished every play in a baseball or basketball game. A more accurate comparison would be a heavyweight boxer fighting a lightweight.

Why is Trinity playing Marshall? Aren't you suppose to play someone from you District ie 1 VS 4 and 2 vs 3? I didn't see were Trinity played Marshall this year, so are they in the same district or not?

One of them was DreamKiller, so that makes sense.
