Colonels_Wear_Blue
There was some heartburn in the discussion last night about CCH dunking with a couple of minutes left in the game during their 16 point win over Beechwood in the 9th Region finals. I already have seen numerous angry tweets about Mayfield dunking today when there were 2 minutes or so left in their 12 point win over McCracken County in the 1st Region finals. So what are the unwritten rules governing when a team is okay to dunk in a game, and when they need to quit dunking in a game?
Mack The Knife
Unless a team is dribbling the clock out in the final seconds, I have no problem with dunking no matter the score.
GottaLuvFootball
CCH JV player ended the Championship game with a dunk last year and I think it was ok in that situation. When you know the game is over, generally I think it’s better to dribble it out. JMO

Identify
I think it’s okay to dunk anytime. Just do not act like the other team should sit back and watch it happen. Both individual going strong to the basket. And, someone might get hurt. It’s to be expected. IMO I wouldn’t take that chance when my team up big. 16thBBall Fan
Unlike college and NBA I think it is more rare in a high school game and a big deal for a kid in high school I don’t have an issue.
BlueDevils
I don’t have an issue with it at all.
Big Fundamental
When the defense can stop it. Don’t understand why this is an issue.
Jumper_Dad
Dunk it the entire game. Hitters don't quit trying to hit homeruns with a big lead.
rjs4470
Shooting 3’s when up big bothers me more than dunking.
FatNate
Dunk...earlier and often.
4 Quarters
As long as the other team is playing solid defense any thing goes.
PP1
As long as the other team is playing solid defense any thing goes. I agree. If the defense is still pressing, then they are still trying to win. Dunk away but don't get mad if a defender does whatever they can to stop it.
Samcro
Rip the rim from the backboard. And if you get a hard foul, so be it.
Jumper_Dad
Shooting 3’s when up big bothers me more than dunking. If it's kids that only get a handful of minutes, it doesn't bother me. Run your offense, if the shot is open...take it.
