January 8, 20197 yr Penalties and the turnovers really killed Bama. If you just looked at the stats you would think it was a close game. I'm ready for them to run it back next year. Additionally, I thought Bama's problems started in the 2nd half of the Oklahoma game. Turnovers, penalties and lack of scoring in their last 6 quarters spelled their demise. They simple just didn't look prepared and I was surprised that they waited so long to give Hurts as shot, not that it would have made a difference. Last year they pulled the trigger at halftime on the QB switch. Putting Hurts in late in the game when it was practically over was meaningless and I considered it a slap in the face after all he's done for their team. No dog in the fight but that stuck out like a sore thumb to me.
January 8, 20197 yr I can't see any way Venables leaves Clemson as long as Dabo is there. He makes great money as a DC only worrying about one unit. Why go somewhere to take an HC job for more money, sure, but 10x the responsibility. He may be an HC one day, but I can see him being the top DC for a career if he's paid well enough. I agree. He only leaves IMO if Dabo does, if he doesn’t become the next head coach there if Dabo were to leave.
January 8, 20197 yr Finebaum Show ought to be epic today and this week. Yeah I might have to set it to record today.

I think he'd leave, but it would have to be one of a very select few jobs. Oklahoma, if/when Riley goes to the NFL, would be the one I think he'd definitely leave for.
January 8, 20197 yr 2019 preseason poll #1 Clemson #2 Alabama #3 everyone else. Don't count out Georgia, they were a half quarter away from eliminating Alabama from the playoffs. I would put them as a 2B
January 8, 20197 yr Don't count out Georgia, they were a half quarter away from eliminating Alabama from the playoffs. I would put them as a 2B If Georgia had won, Bama still would have been in. Oklahoma wouldn't have bee in then.
January 8, 20197 yr The concession came when Saban opted not to try and get points at the end of the first half. 40 seconds, or however long it was, with three timeouts is like having four minutes in the NFL. Both teams moved the ball with relative ease, the difference being until the Tide got down to the red zone where Clemson made plays and Bama apparently forgot how to call plays. or turned it over via interception ( including a Pick Six) before they reached the red zone.
January 8, 20197 yr Clemson (the ones on the internet) were already beyond obnoxious before this, so it's kind of annoying they will only be worse now... But, it's fun to see SEC fans put in their place. Agree. Particularly how the storm the field even after pedestrian wins. Act like you've been there.
January 8, 20197 yr Author Yeah I might have to set it to record today. I set it DVR it before going to bed last night.
January 8, 20197 yr I can see ESPN 2019 preseason rankings starting like this 1-Clemson 2-Alabama 3-Georgia And then I can see them telling the nation how great he SEC will be loaded top to bottom in 2019.
January 8, 20197 yr Don't count out Georgia, they were a half quarter away from eliminating Alabama from the playoffs. I would put them as a 2B I for one won’t take Georgia seriously until they get the Alabama monkey off their back.
