Brohm - Woodson Debate

Featured Replies

RockPride stats dont lie and he is somthing less than what you and I thought he would be but he still has alot going for him.

He has struggled mightily for ONE HALF, while recovering from two serious injuries for a QB, I will not concede that he leaves anything to be desired...Would I like to see more TD's, yes, but that is not UL's M.O. and I have grown used to that.

So why didn't they have any of the D1 studs that were roaming the Ville at that point in time? McBroom, Mudd and Riddle sure are tearing it up at the next level...

They are...but they changed their names to Jarret, Sweed, and Manningham.

You certainly shouldn't bring out stats from the Cincy game, Boucher. This is an excellent example of a case where statistics just won't tell the story.

Why? I don't think you should bring out stats from the LSU game. The fact of the matter is that stats are stats and they don't lie. You can skew them, argue them, manipulate them and burn them (just ask Marvin Lewis), but they're facts.

It's amazing to me how some UofL fans skew this argument.

Vandy is by no means a great team, but they have a solid pass defense. They were 19th in the nation in terms of pass D & Woodson made them look silly.

FWIW, I will still take Brian Brohm over Andre Woodson.

Uh, because he was coming back 3 weeks early from a surgery where they reattached his thumb to the muscles that move it.
Guys please dont compare UK's QB to an elite, next Petyon Manning-type QB like UL has.

It doesnt matter to them that UK has played a much tougher schedule, and Woodson doesnt have near the O-line that UL has.

I think Brohm is a better prospect because he is so heady, but Woodson has played every bit as good as Brohm has played this year.

Check the SOS on Cbs.sportsline and get back to me, buddy.:thumb:

I think Woodson has had the better season. Does that mean he is the better Qb? No.

They are both good quarterbacks. IMO the difference is this: UoL fans think Brohm is god, UK fans know Woodson is a mortal.

I would take Brohm in a heartbeat at UK. In fact, I really wanted him to come there. According to him, it was a final choice. I really don't think he would be fairing better than Woodson if he were the starting Qb at UK right now.

Does any UoL fan really think Brohm would really have better stats than Woodson if it was he and not Woodson taking the snaps for the Wildcats?

Wow I cant believe this thread has gotten this much attention. Im a die-hard UK fan, but there is not much comparison IMO of these two. Brohm is definitely the better QB. Woodson has improved a whole lot this year, but he is still not where Brohm is.

I dont feel like looking for it again, but I saw someone post that Brohm is the better college QB, but Woodson will have the better NFL career and well I just found that Hilarious. IMO I dont see Woodson ever being a starter in the NFL, I think if he keeps improving he could maybe be a good backup one day at best though. Brohm however will be a starter and atleast given a chance to succeed, and hopefully he can do better than the last top rated ky QB did in the NFL in Tim Couch...

If both QB's stay in school and Woodson makes another huge improvement going into next year, then I think we can start the debate maybe. But right now its no question Brohm is the better QB...

You lost ALL credibility to comment on all NFL related matters when you predicted that the Bengals would win "at least the next 5 games" I believe you said to "Write this down" They didn't even win one--I'm sure the NFL is flooding you with GM job offers.

Uh, because he was coming back 3 weeks early from a surgery where they reattached his thumb to the muscles that move it.

But Rockpride said that he was fully recovered from his injuries. I'll give him a pass on the Miami game but the fact remains that he does not have a multi-touchdown game this year. Go ahead tell me how that UL runs the ball inside the red zone. Answer me this then: (I don't expect you to, you ignored it the first time) 4 of Brohm's 6 touchdowns are less than 10 yards, how can you say that he doesn't get the chances inside the red zone AND Cantwell threw 5 touchdowns (1 less than Brohm all season) in his two starts. Are we to believe that UL put in its backup quarterback and suddenly decided to open up the playbook so as to make him throw the ball inside the red zone when they don't evidently trust Brohm to do it? I'm just curious. I'm not sold on Woodson being better in the long run than Brohm but this year has been no comparison. Woodson is a 2 time player of the week in the best (and I'll go ahead and head you off if you want to argue otherwise, all of the reputable media ranks the SEC as the best) conference in the country and has thrown for more yards per game, 4 times as many touchdowns, and leads the SEC in lowest interception percentage all-time. If I gave you the numbers with no names attached and you were voting for all-conference or All-American there would be no competition. Brohm may salvage his season down the strech or win the Heisman next year but you don't win the Heisman, make the All-American team or get drafted in the first round throwing 6 touchdowns in 7 games. Unless you're an option quarterback, they don't hand out those awards based on intangibles.

Maybe you should recheck it....BUDDY! UK 14th UL 18th....FROM CBS SPORTSLINE!

14 compared to 18 is "MUCH tougher". Learn something "new" every day. Thought of the night. Would UK be lower without UL on the schedule???

^^^^^^^Crickets from the UL crowd. Thus far they have produced no numbers to support any of their claims.

Fact: UK has played a tougher schedule.

Fact: Woodson has better numbers than Brohm.

Fact: UK has played a tougher schedule.

Fact: Woodson has better numbers than Brohm.

Fact: UK is above UL because they played UL

Fact: UL is below UK because they played UK
