As I said before I am a die hard UK fan and would always want us to have better things that UL. But its just funny that people try to say Woodson is better than Brohm..

 

Yeah.. hilarious. Its not like Woodson is beating him in almost every statistical category while playing a more difficult schedule behind an inferior offensive line. Oh wait....

 

I have no problem with people believing Brohm is better, but nobody has come up with ANY evidence to support it. Honestly, the best argument is that he's won more games. Other than that you can only make excuses for why he's not even matching Woodson's numbers.

Some people have blinders on when it comes to certain things...I, too, hope Brohm ends up living up to his billing, but, IMO, he hasn't yet..I would have thought this conversation silly myself at the 1st of the year, but, I think it's a legit question now...

My sentiments exactly. I'd still take Brohm, but I think Woodson has the potential to pass him at some point. I'm not saying he will, just that it's possible.

 

I think that was the view on Andre coming out of high school as well. That he had a huge upside, but was very raw and unpolished. I think we're starting to see the results of some polishing and he's still got plenty of room to improve.

 

Brohm, on the other hand, was much more polished coming out of high school. I could be wrong, but I think he is much closer to his ceiling as far as potential than Woodson.

Right now Mel Kiper doesn't have him in his top 8 Juniors which would more than likely put him out of the first round. I think if he comes back and has a healthy year he could play himself into the first round. However, I think the NFL has soured on drafting quarterbacks with potential highly. They seem to be more willing to take an "NFL ready" player such as Brady Quinn, Vince Young, or Matt Leinart with the higher picks. Because of his injuries I think Brohm has something to prove before he would go in the first round. Woodson definately would have to come back and have a good year to have any chance to be picked in the first round.

 

I agree. I like Brohm, but at this point, I wouldn't consider him a lock to be a first round pick. I wouldn't rule it out, but my honest opinion is that he's not.

So why didn't they have any of the D1 studs that were roaming the Ville at that point in time? McBroom, Mudd and Riddle sure are tearing it up at the next level...

That's rich. So the argument was that he was surrounded by studs because he played for a private school. Yet the public schools in the Ville have produced most of the D1 talent at the positions in question. And it's not like Brohm's WRs didn't get a look while every major program in the country was looking at the QB. I love these debates because you guys are spinning like a political campaign...

Either way it doesn't change the FACT that Brohm has thrown 6 touchdowns in 7 games and ranks 97th in the country in that respect.

That's it then....Brian is the 97th best QB in the country...man is U of L lucky that he can even throw the darned thing forward.

As far as the Cards running so much in the red zone, then why did Cantwell have 5 passing TDs in 2 games and Brohm 6 in 7 games...

Cantwell played against Miami, K-State, and MTSU....

As far as this statement goes...i could buy that...But Brian's potential is still way out there as far as limitations....he's got so many things that he can do...and learn to become THE elite QB...he certainly has some work to do, but let's see how this whole thing shakes out...I am certainly disappointed in his TD numbers, and the second half against Rutgers, other than that...he has made numerous, right decisions over the latter...you do have to look at how many TD's Louisville runs for, compared to UK.

I think he is a lock right now. A GM looks, and see's his ability to overcome injury, his work ethic, and decision making, his downside, many arrogant GM's think they can fix.
