Brohm - Woodson Debate

Featured Replies

That's not a way to judge anyone.

I guess if Brohm was a St. X grad, played for UK, and Woodson a Trinity grad, playing for UL, and the stats being what they are now, you would have the same point of view? I seriously doubt it.

I agree. I am not an Arkansas fan by any stretch but can give my opinion that McFadden has been the best back in the SEC this season. Is that wrong of me? ;)

Forget where they played HS ball. If Brohm was playing for UK and had the same stats he has now, nobody in their right mind would say he's as good as Woodson.

As things are now though, Brohm is "definately better" because of his reads/intangibles/blah/blah/blah, despite inferior on the field performances.

Only because Rafael Little has been injured...:sssh:

Guys, if W32 is taking the Louisville player, it's time to close the thread...

Your arguments just keep getting weaker and weaker for Brohm.:bunny:

I think that's actually the best argument I've laid out.

Of UK's football fans, W32 is the biggest partisan on this site and LABS is the most knowledgeable. And they say Brohm is the better football player. Case closed.

Woodson has been better this season. He was relied on more due to the youth of his team and he delivered. Could Brohm have delivered as much if he was at UK? Yep. Could Woodson have done as well at UL? Yep. But we will never know.

Brohm is more polished, but coming off a major knee injury and having the thumb surgery during the season did impact him. Also, UL does run more in the red zone which does impact a QB's numbers.

I think both teams would have performed just as well with the other QB at the helm.

But if I based which one meant more to their team and carried more of the load, this year it was Woodson. Who will be the better pro QB? Doesn't matter for this argument, but Brohm is more polished. However, Woodson sure made huge strides this season, well beyond what anyone expected (except maybe himself and his teammates).

I am just happy for both kids and wish them both well the rest of the season and into next season as well.

I think that's actually the best argument I've laid out.

So noone elses opinion matters?

So do you have categories for all UK fans? I think if LABS is most knowledgeable then Mountain Thunder is Most Likely to Succeed.

I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that if those two posters are taking Brohm, then there must not be a lot to the debate.

Woodson's having an excellent year, and has really improved his game. Brohm is the superior QB, but it's certainly not by as much ground as it used to be. That's not Brohm's fault, Woodson had a lot more room to grow than Brohm if for no other reason than Brohm was so advanced coming out of high school while Woodson was considered a raw talent.

If nothing else, his play has silenced the idea that Woodson was the #3 QB in the state behind Cantwell. And that was an idea that wasn't so dead in the middle of this season, when as you may recall that Cantwell's abortive recruitment by UK was the call-in show topic before UK's SEC opener after he played well against Miami.

I dont think its such a stretch to say that Woodson has played just as good if not better than Brohm this year. Woodson has atleast been one of the top 15 QBs in the nation if not better than that.

I agree that Brohm was much more polished than Woodson. Andre was a raw talent. However, their play on the field, against the competition they have played against this season, Woodson has been better this year. I know there are other reasons and pointed them out earlier, but if you would have told me before the season that I would even be considering this argument, I would have laughed. But this season, Woodson has been better. There are no other facts to argue any other way. Now to which one will be a better pro QB, I still think Brohm leads that category. But as you have said, the gap has narrowed.

So do you have categories for all UK fans? I think if LABS is most knowledgeable then Mountain Thunder is Most Likely to Succeed.

Does that get me a trophy LMB? :D

Thanks for the compliment.
