I think if T wins this, it is by ball control, spreading the formations, keeping Beaumont and co. on defense, Petrino scrambling and Phillips taking 5 yards at a time. Male has started fast in every big game this year. Containing that start means success. Instant classic waiting to happen.

BTW, In Ohio this weekend on Saturday, #1 vs #2 also. Colerain vs Cincy St X in the 3rd round.

 

 

I agree with you, I think that may be the only way T can pull it off. Maybe even try to wear down Male in the 2nd half.

I believe the last time T played at Male's field was 10 years ago in 1996 when another diminutive QB, Phil Hubert, led the Rocks to a stirring come-from-behind win, something like 28-24. Male was led by another Mr. Football-type, Tony Driver, who was contained fairly well by the T defense. If you can call this "history," will it repeat itself?

 

I think this current Male team has more weapons than their earlier counterpart but T's offense is lightyears beyond what Coach Servino had in those years.

 

My prediction: Trinty 27-21.

This is a game not for the faint of heart. Both sides are here to show that they are the bigger and better team. There isn't much finese to the Male team this year. They challenge your wide outs with man coverage, they force you block more blitzers than there are blockers, they force your D-Line to stop a run by running a play untill you can stop it, they will be pressuring Nick all game, and there speed will challenge our pass coverage abilities. This game makes one prove who is simply the bigger, stronger, faster, and better man. No matter what play is called by either side, it will come down to whose the better man. This is the game any true competitor hungers for; it is their chance to prove their greatness. Male and Trinity are in control of their own fates and this friday is gonna be the game of the year.

 

 

I agree with 98% of what you posted. I have seen Male play and they have finesse. Playing and or winning a football game does not make you a better man!!

Take a "DEEP BREATH " Rock fans. Its not that serious. If the Rocks win, So be it they'll move on and we will be OK. If we win same thing. These kids win or lose will be back to doing teenager things in the next few days. TD Great comeback...I have a son on the team and if we lose in the next few weeks doesn't make this kid a "Lesser Man".

With all the talk of speed, speed, and more speed at Male.... I wonder how Trinity managed to win state in Track last year? I know several of this year's Football Rocks were on that team. How about Male?
