I could see that. My first thought thought is that he plays two more years, then comes on as a graduate assistant at UK.

I'm not sure what level he should play. Seems like a D3 player based on what I've seen (not the chatter about best shooter on team, yadda yadda yadda).

This mean Cal stays at least three more seasons? I think he’d stay longer regardless, but some think once Brad is gone so goes Cal.

Is it too late to get back our best shooter?

With the release noting this redshirt will allow him to play 2 years as a post-grad, it only makes sense to me that he will transfer somewhere he can get lots of court time. Stated objective of coaching as a career he is building an attractive resume' and maybe court time fulfills his personal competitive desires. Coach Cal's contacts will serve his future moves well.
