Say Urban Meyer did in fact know this happened, regardless if Smith was arrested or not, how does a man who has a wife and a daughter who just had a child last year not can the dude? How does a woman, Urban's wife, not let her husband know he is employing a woman beater?

 

You will never convince me that Urban's wife didn't tell Urban, you won't. Wives are more likely to tell the husbands everything than the other way around. And if Urban's wife kept this from him she should be fired for not going over his head and reporting it.

How does her own parents let this go on for 6 years? That’s the thing, somehow this became normal, I’m sure Shelley told him “the Smith’s are fighting again.” But with no charges, or evidence shown to the police or to Urban directly, this crap almost went on for a decade.

Not a chance.

I absolutely believe Urban Meyer knew and protected his buddy. No chance his wife knows about that and doesn't say anything. And if she did, he should probably divorce her immediately.

One sportsbook has Meyer the favorite to be the coach on Sept 1st. Odds were made before he was put on leave.

I don’t believe they didn’t have a conversation, I just think the conversation went something more along the lines of, “the Smiths are still having issues, why don’t you talk to Zach and see what you can find out and I’ll do everything I can to help Courtney.” Urban knew they had issues, what he may not have known is the severity of the issue. Besides being his assistant coach, The Meyers and the Smiths were friends and the Meyers had spent time before counseling the Smith’s on their marriage. There is still nothing in it for Meyer to lie about any abuse he knew about in 2015 because he had already fired him and spoken about the abuse he did know about in 2009. Why if he knew about 2015 would he not come out and say it?

Brett McMurphy spent 3 days in Columbus preparing this story and interviewed 1 person. 1 person. You think this is a quality news piece? This dude is garbage. How do you write a slam piece about one of the most high profile coaches in the history of college football and only have testimony from 1 person? Then he goes on SVP last night and says there is no direct evidence that Urban knew despite proclaiming in his article earlier in the day that he did. There is a reason this guy is posting articles to his Facebook instead of publishing them on ESPN.
