I've seen Title IX violations mentioned but I'm confused on how it applies here?

He signed a kid with a DV charge on his record. I wouldn’t try to defend that as an SEC fan.

 

To me that's a big deal as well, imo as big or bigger than this one, you could have left out the SEC part to make it sound unbias though.

 

Serious question though because I know you're a smart man and the field you work in. Does it seem to you like OSU is taking the steps needed to protect themselves from a potential lawsuit from Meyer if they do indeed fire him?

Sure they did, either they're standing behind him or they're not. They seemingly feel like they were wronged or they wouldn't put him on leave..

They are under obligation by title IX to conduct an investigation. You can’t do that and have Urban inside the halls of the program running the team at the same time.

You can if he said anything in his meeting with Gene Smith today that would be damning.

Unfortunately that's typically how it works unless a lot of money is thrown around. But in this instance I believe that the people at OSU that put him on administrative leave know a lot more about the situation than you or I do.

My guess is that they know things that he didn't disclose in said meeting.

Well that I agree with. Hell at this point for all we know, Urban did report this to the university in 2015 and nothing came of it and he just flat lied about it at the presser. So many things in this don’t make any sense. Obviously this doesn’t reach the level of the Penn St scandal, but how did so many people know about this going on and nothing ever came out?

They will be 1 step ahead. By naming Ryan Day the interim coach, they’re already preparing for the future if need be.

Lying about it at only the press conference likely wouldn't have gotten him put on leave.

 

A lot of this doesn't make sense see and I don't want to speculate on why it didn't come out. Neither would really prove anything.
