If you are firing him for cause, the first step is administrative leave then the investigation and then he is fired. You fire him today without an investigation, and he gets all the money...

 

My thoughts exactly. Paid administrative leave is a way to show that OSU did a proper investigation prior to firing him. OSU is covering all of the bases prior to firing him to present to the court when Meyer sues them for terminating his contract. Also buys gives them time to look at new coaching options prior to the firing.

Doesn’t matter. If he knew something was going on, and didn’t disclose what he knew to the higher ups, he is in breach of his contract. It isn’t that hard to understand...

If he knew there was potentially a domestic violence situation on his staff, he is required to report it to his superiors. That is a responsibility of his contract. If he failed to do so, he is in breach of said contract. Again. This isn’t hard to understand...

Those were my thoughts exactly but I don't know all of the facts as far as what Meyer did or didn't know as well as anything he have missled or lied to about with the university. For all I know he's squeaky clean and shouldn't be fired.

 

But at the same time it's not often that schools put a coach like Meyer on administrative leave and not end up firing them. Which is why I think he's gone. I don't really have an opinion on it because I only know what the media tells me as far as this is concerned.

I could say the same about Nick Saban who signed a known domestic abuser who pleaded guilty to the charge, who went on to abuse another girl 3 months after joining Bama, then Saban let him go.

Like I said they didn’t have a choice but to put him on administrative leave whether they believe he knew or not.
