Report: OSU's Urban Meyer Knew and Lied About Domestic Abuse Allegations

Featured Replies

It has reportedly been proven that Urban Meyer knew AND lied about domestic abuse allegations against a member of his coaching staff.

He could lose his job over this.

@Brett_McMurphy

Text messages I have obtained, an exclusive interview w/the victim & other information I have learned shows Ohio State coach Urban Meyer knew in 2015 of domestic abuse allegations against a member of his coaching staff despite his denial last week

Who will be the next coach at Ohio State?

Brett McMurphy has the complete story in his Facebook page, including very graphic pictures of the woman.

I’m sure @John Anthony can explain.

Police were called to the house twice and never arrested Smith, nor were any charges filled. She said he did stuff, he said he didn’t. Why wasn’t he arrested or charged with this evidence she claims to have?

At this point it isn't about the actual incident, it's about the "face" of OSU lying about it.

If Urban had just said what JA said, that may have been the end of it...but he lied about it. Not a good look for a coach that has previously played fast and loose with the truth.

You think they told him to lie? If so they are all stupid.

Wow! Terrible look for OSU. I don't understand how Urban's wife was so concerned for her "friend" but Urban kept this animal around? I mean even if the police didn't charge Smith, just knowing what you know from your wife and yet you keep this bully around you and the team. Doesn't make sense to me. "Leader" what a load of garbage.

Not good. Ohio State fired Jim Tressell for much less than what Urban is alleged to have done. Lots of factors that are yet to come out, but not a storyline that you ever want to see and especially not with fall camp starting. This could have all been avoided had Urban simply worded his comment at Big 10 media days better.

A lot of coaches would lose their job over this, Urban Meyer probably isn't one of them.

No way Urban is fired for this...maybe he should be, but he won't be.

Do I think that OSU told him what to say (IE the corporate answer/response to the situation) You bet.

“The alleged incident in 2015 was brought to my attention, but after speaking with smith and law enforcement we decided to keep smith on the staff. In hindsight I regret this decision but at the time we didn’t feel there was enough evidence to act.” It’s not that hard.
