March 24, 20188 yr His wife, the former Christy (sp) Hester, is from Louisville and was quite a basketball player in her own right at Holy Cross H.S. and the University of Dayton. I assume her family lives in Louisville. Maybe that might be a (perhaps slight) factor in his decision. I believe her parents do.
March 24, 20188 yr I have been thinking about this most of the day. The one thing I keep coming back to is you only get 1 real shot. Does Mack look at this and say "What if I wait for Izzo, K or Roy to retire?" Mack is 48 which means he has a lot of time left if he wants. Does he take his shot now?? Even still, it would be hard to pass up being THE GUY at the top of the list right now for UofL and being guaranteed a shot. Would that be worth gambling when the future isn’t certain?

March 24, 20188 yr Where actually are these numbers coming from ? I haven’t seen any numbers either, however, this seems like it’s a done deal. I think UofL announces Tyra as the AD as a gesture to Mack, then make the official announcement on Mack right after.

March 25, 20188 yr Just seen a report were UofL wanted to interview, UKs Kenny Payne. Well interesting Louisville always wanting to get coaches from UK. :lol2::wideyed:
March 25, 20188 yr I think the Kenny Payne interview is to make some former players happy. Plus will show they interviewed minority candidate. Marques Maybin was calling for more minorities to be interviewed on his radio show. I will be surprised if Mack not hired this week. Tyra said he wants coach with head coach experience and said several coaches had reached out about the job.
