Mayfield deserved the Heisman, but he also showed why he has question marks at the next level. In the second half and OT, OU put up one TD, including stalling after having the ball with 55 seconds and three timeouts in regulation (that’s like having four minutes in the NFL), and only picked up one first down in OT (off a penalty). He was visibly rattled and the speed got to him. Yes, some of the play calling was horrendous. I hate more than any play jet sweeps... getting the ball east/west is counter-intuitive to anything football is supposed to be about.

 

Kudos to Fromm for being as composed as he was. Roquan Smith is a bad man!

That was very enjoyable to watch. I really thought Oklahoma was at an advantage heading into OT, but I think the play calling was suspect.

 

Georgia will be tough to beat in Atlanta.
