AJ Mayer...the last name doesn’t sound familiar but his mothers maiden name (Maile) should ring a bell to many. Great athlete and deserving #legacy

My only criteria...Taking AJ off of CovCath is a bigger loss to CovCath than taking Rondale Moore off of Trinity. Both are deserving though.

Since before the season started, I have said Rondale Moore. Don't see a reason to change at this point.

I don't disagree. Just trying to find out who is "more valuable". I think overall AJ Mayer was "more valuable" to CovCath than Rondale Moore was to Trinity. It's six one way have dozen the other. Moore's stats were incredible. If he is Mr. Kentucky Football then no gripes from me.

I would argue if we are going based solely off of value, no player had more Value to their team than VanCleave at Danville

 

762 rushing yards and 11 TD's

1095 receiving yards and 14 TD's

6 INT's and 2 Defensive TD's

2 Kick Return TD's and numerous yards

41 Solo Tackles

 

I don't think Danville gets out of the Regional Finals.. maybe even the 2nd Round (a stretch but he had over Half their catches, a TD, and a key INT).. without him. The game he had in the 2A Finals was a thing of beauty

Rondale Moore and anyone who says otherwise is being biased. And there’s nothing wrong with being biased. Just own it. Rondale Moore is the best HS football player in KY this year. Mr. Football.

That makes AJ his team MVP but it doesn't make him the best football player in the state. No debate that both kids were surrounded by very talented teammates and that they were integral parts of their teams success.

Why is Waggenner's Jairus Brents not even in this conversation?

 

Arguably the most recruited player in Kentucky with over 30 D1 offers.

 

I know he was hurt and missed some games but still the hottest college pick in the state.

If you are about to build a team of your choice with no prior bias, the first layer you draft is the QB that has the size, accuracy, vision arm strength and athletism to run a high powered offense. Not one receiver. No offense to Moore that’s the way it is. The QB that throws him the ball and the other receivers the ball, makes time or runs well is number one.

IMO
