I’d be fine with that. Rondale Moore didn’t get POY of 6A because Trinity isn’t a member of the Association who passed out the individual awards.

Best High School player in Kentucky should get THE Mr. Kentucky award. If Shawn Alexander had gone to Beechwood then Mr. Football that year should have come from 1A.

I agree. If they gave one for each class there would be a thread asking who was the over all best. Doesn't each class have a player of the year, or is it the districts? I don't know......I believe that this award is supposed to represent the best player in Kentucky, everybody don't get a trophy this time. Just as it should be. You want the trophy? Work harder! No real reason to be honest. The idea was mentioned to name Mr. Football for all 6 classes and I liked the idea and added the wrinke of naming one of the 6 winners an overall Mr. Football.

 

We already pass out 6 state championship trophies. It only makes sense to name a Mr. Football in each class as well.

In TN they give out a Mr. Football and a Mr. football lineman for each class. I don't see anything wrong with this. There is an opportunity to give more kids more recognition for having great seasons/careers.

It was my understanding that Mr Football was the best football player in the state, not 1A-6A. The best player in the state. If I am wrong fine. When I have heard Mr. Football, that's what I thought, but I'm old. :(

 

Also, I could be wrong but I believe the winner does get something stating that the person won the "Award".

I did not see the young man who won the award play in person. I'm sure he is very deserving. All I know is Rondale Moore is one of the most talented high school players I have seen in any year. I hope it wasn't just anti-Trinity sentiment that caused him to not get it.
