Absolute best thing UofL could do is fire him ASAP. The sooner they fire him the sooner they move past all of this. Keeping him a week, a month or til the end of the season just prolongs everything. Put in an interim coach then go get your guy at the end of the season.

Is it actually possible that Coach 2 is Pitino? Would an assistant coach really swing anything big at Adidas?

 

If so that could be why this is moving so quickly if he actually is being fired.

I would think yes, they’ve ruined their amateur status. By definition they are now professionals.

If involved they won't be able to play at the connected schools for sure. If they actually received money they may be completely banned, but I don't think that has happened in the past.

Was talking to a high major assistant coach about everything earlier. Started to get a clicking noise on the line about every 10 seconds. Got off that call ASAP... :lol2:

I feel bad for the other teams in the UofL athletic department, those players have gone through the gauntlet for 3-4 years now just because of the Men’s basketball program. They’re going to suffer from the sanctions the NCAA assesses the University because of Rick Pitino. The basketball program deserves everything the NCAA decides to do, but the athletic department as a whole does not.

I talked to another coach earlier and his words were "I see no way that Rick Pitino gets out of this one. His people won't back him again."

I would expect there to be budget issues depending upon what the NCAA decides. Which will effect everyone.
