My two favorite teams lost today. FSU and the team playing Florida. What a truly awful day.

I’m with ya DF. Shoulda stayed in bed.

I am going to give you another one to add to the list - UK has first and goal at the 5 and gets delay of game. Too long to call a play and no timeout called when they could not get the play set up and snapped in time. Now it is first and 10 and they end up settling for a field goal. That arguably cost them 4 points. The whole game changes if UK scores a TD there instead of a field goal.

Anyone who blames this on Stoops is an idiot.

Period!

He did not get out coached.

He had this team ready to play, and they played well. Outside of a handful of plays, calls by the refs, etc. these young men performed.

Yes they could have won, but they were unfortunate and didn't. If you can't accept how far this team has come. Put your head in your butt and cheer for someone else.

Stoops blamed himself after the game, so....

Add another chapter to the still ongoing U.K. football instructional book titled ......(?) number of ways to lose a game to Florida. ...the (?) due to still inventing ways.

People can place blame on any one or a number of persons ....bottom line is they didn't get it done. There were two huge defensive plays that made the difference that were mental errors. No use to point blame on any one individual. That close of a game ...any number of coulda. shoulda, woulda's could have taken blame.

You want to see what incompetence looks like? Pull up a picture of Mark Stoops.

While there were many coaching issues in this game which don't all fall on Stoops, Kentucky would have been a 35 point underdog in this game prior to Stoops being hired. To be honest if the offensive play calling hadn't became so conservative the cats would have won this one. That's not on Stoops. Kentucky went away from what was working on offense after building a 13 point lead and tried to just run the clock. I can't stand it when teams/coaches do that whether it's football or basketball, it's just a terrible idea. You should always play to win, not play to win then get conservative and play to not lose. Most teams that do that end up losing or at least turning it into a game that could be lost.

He did at crunch time.

It's hard to know if the play calling got conservative only because of the Coordinator or if Stoops had something to do with it. With Stoops being the head coach he very easily could have told his OC to be more conservative and try to burn clock.

That was a really soft holding call. UK would have kicked the game winning field goal. Whichever team lost would have lamented missed chances.

I haven't read the entire thread, so I apologize in advance if this was covered but why

When UK scored their late 4th quarter TD to increase their lead to 5 points, I told "The Boss" that UK needed to go for a 2 point conversion, as Fla was going to score a TD in those last few minutes and after they scored, the PAT would win them the game.

Can’t believe they didn’t go for two, as even if they missed the 2pt conversion, Fla then would still need a TD to win the game. Dumb decision by the UK coaching staff in not thinking ahead, as honestly, how many times out of a 100 does a team miss a PAT kick?

Stoops game management is still a work in progress.

It should have progressed way more at this point than what was shown last night.

Not sure what game you were watching but that never happened. It went from a 14-14 game at halftime to a 21-14 game, to a 24-14 game, to a 27-14 game. There was never a time UK should have gone for 2.

Maybe they could have tried a 4-point field goal.

It's actually kind of embarrassing. There are a lot of folks across the country laughing at Kentucky after this game. I hope the team recovers and continues to improve.

For that to be the case UK football would have to be have a history of being good and relevant in the SEC. Neither of which is true, nobody outside KY cares.

EXACTLY!!! When it comes time to help his team seems like he's asleep at the wheel, not that hard to call TO with an uncovered receiver standing right in front of you, especially when it just happened at Vandy too, looks like you're the one that needs to pull his head out of his butt!!
