After one day 8 teams would be eliminated. Another 8 after the second day.

Which means some teams stick around an extra day or so.

So, are there any updates on a final list of venues to hold the tournament? I know Stan and the All A committee will make a wise choice.

My suggestion is EKU but I will admit I'm biased (and a little bit selfish:D) because Richmond is only 50 miles from where I live.

I'm sure a decision will be made soon. Regional play starts in 5 months.

At this point they may have to modify the tournament. Im struggling to find a host site that has the time frame open and seating capacity for the event.

Bring back sectionals

The meeting is Saturday isn't it?

I know two other high schools (Valley, Mason County) are being thrown around, but here's an option:

CENTRAL HARDIN.

Gym seats 4,008. Plenty of parking. Easy restaurants (can walk to McDonald's, Burger King and Taco Bell; Subway and Dairy Queen less than 3 miles away). Easy access off Western Kentucky Parkway (direct exit off Ring Road) and Bluegrass Parkway (take either E'town exit) and has two exits (91, 94) off I-65 to choose from.

Plenty of good hotels off exit 94.

And more centrally located than any other option.

(FWIW: Central Hardin was slated to host the Kentucky-Indiana Sr All Stars in 2017 before it got moved. CH also hosts state powerlifting and elementary school state wrestling, I think).

According to the Herald Leader the tournament is headed back to Eastern Kentucky University. I did not think this was an option. (NCAA Bylaw 13.11.1.8) For one I am very happy that it is headed back to Richmond.

I think the difference is events that you qualify for is different than an invitational.

Thank goodness. I really enjoyed the tournament in Richmond.

I remember when an event was to be played in Rupp a several years ago and it was cancelled 36 hours before tip off because of that rule.

I don't understand why people like the Frankfort Convention center so much. It was old and outdated. I think players will enjoy playing at a D1 College facility like EKU. Hopefully they use the video board during the games. McBrayer-Arena-02.jpg

I am hearing EKU is the place and I think it is the most logical spot.

To me EKU has an odd setup.
