Looks like I'll be doing updates for the 2018 event. :dancingpa

The drive to Richmond I can deal with.

McBrayer isn't great but they have made some interior changes since the All-A left that will make for a better environment.

According to the Herald Leader the tournament is headed back to Eastern Kentucky University. I did not think this was an option. (NCAA Bylaw 13.11.1.8) For one I am very happy that it is headed back to Richmond.
Having experienced the All A at Richmond and Frankfort on multiple occasions as a fan, parent, and coach......I hate to see it go back to Richmond. Absolutely not a fan friendly facility compared to Frankfort. Yes, I am aware that Frankfort is no longer an option.

I hope so.

I don't understand why people like the Frankfort Convention center so much. It was old and outdated. I think players will enjoy playing at a D1 College facility like EKU. Hopefully they use the video board during the games.

Old doesn't always have to mean that it's awful, or even outdated. I'll agree that the outside of the place was nothing to look at, but inside I thought that it was structurally interesting with its simple one level bowl effect where it gave a close intimate feel for the crowd no matter where they sat.

I've never been to Richmond's facility, but like sweet16 said, and from what I can see from the picture, it looks to have an odd setup. One side with so many end zone seats with none on the other seems rather strange. Thankfully though, there are plenty of sideline views.

I'm sure that I could live with it, but I'm not really here to dis on Richmond... I just wanted to speak my 2 cents for what a great place Frankfort was. I was rather surprised by this all of the sudden decision to tear it down, and I'm glad to have at least, in the nick of time it seems, finally once and for all get the chance to experience it before it was gone.

Have no opinion on whether it is the best site for the All A or not, but for selfish reasons I love that they are coming to EKU...........it's 3 minutes from my house:ylsuper:

My sons have been to both venues. Both have their quirks but work well.

God that's an ugly gym

I applaud and extend my thanks to the All A Committee for securing an alternate site. While the consensus was that Frankfort was a good venue, they had to scramble when Frankfort no longer was an option. I am sure EKU will be fine.

Well said.

I'm looking forward to another GREAT All A Tournament.

I'm happy that the All A found a new home in the wake of the Convention Center demolition. I'm a proud EKU grad, but their facility isn't the greatest place to watch a basketball game. The bottom line is that the All A was forced to make a change and EKU stepped up. I wish nothing but the best for both parties. I sure hope to make it to Richmond and catch some basketball. After 30 years, maybe they'll save my seat.

From the looks of this, accessibility to Press Row from the stands will be a challenge......how are my "peeps" going to get to me? :idunno: :lol2:

Is there room for a press row?

Both of them should be fine.

EKU has good and bad points. I would like the "No PEP Bands" rule enforced at any morning session. That arena amplifies the sound.
