Same here. And it also depends on my mood. Sometimes 8-12 hours a day of being a "people person" causes me to want to check out of society for a while and not be around anybody.

Only when I have to be. People in general suck. That said, I think I could have an enjoyable time with most of our BGP community.

Most of the time I am. When I am doing something I can only focus on that thing and can appear standoffish. I just want to get the task done, then we can talk, chit chat, etc. I hate being interrupted and will be very firm and frank.

 

The lovely lady says it is my mean streak.

I would say that I am. I've never met a person that didn't taste good.

I will make small talk with pretty much anybody. Embarrasses my avatar sometimes.

 

Same here. I can talk to anyone. I think it's part of the culture of eastern Kentuckians to be that way. When I use to take my uncle to the doctors in Lexington I would always get a kick out of him in the waiting rooms. If anyone was sitting with close proximity to him he would start a conversation, usually ask, "What parts are you from young feller.?" Then the subject would go from there to the weather, gardening, medical ailments, etc. My dad was the same way. I suppose I've followed in their footsteps, lol.

As long as the people aren't stupid, yes.

I am concidered by all who are my friends to be a good friend. One of the most dependable and loving people you could know.

 

I don't enjoy the whole meeting people process. Being introduced to someone is one thing. Starting an idle conversation for the sake of talking to someone is another.

 

Small talk is not my thing. I am very comfortable being all by myself, and enjoy it for that matter.

At work, yes. Most anywhere else, I'm more likely to "respond to an email" than engage in conversation.

I'm comfortable in many different settings...I guess it's a "gift" of sorts. I can be a people person in a room full of strangers, and I can also be very comfortable alone watching tv, eating, walking the golf course, etc.
