Its kind of amusing that all year log we have had the X and T banter, and when it comes to the game, a thunder storm takes precedence. I think someone is trying to tell us something:D

 

Exactly. When Fr. Rice gave his invocation last night, he started by saying "God, we'd like to invite you to a football game tonight".

 

Looked like God wasn't much interested in watching.

Well, I guess Trinity will never ever get a W against St.X that their fans think we deserve. There is nothing more than I wanted last night MORE THAN 4 quarters. I couldn't find one T fan that wanted the game to be called. While we looked like gangbusters and they were on their heels, why would a T fan want that game stopped other than the obvious reasons for human safety.

Any how ,X will beat Male both times they play and meet us again. It might be a whole different game then , so in reality , a game that drew 30,000 fans doesn't mean anything . Especially when there was 1:16 left in the first qtr. when it was called.Trinity's ball on the 44 yard line. And Trinity ahead 10-0.

 

I sat there in the stands to the bitter end, with all the T students displaying their school pride by standing there and cheering the whole night. What a great place, and great spirit to be a part of !

and for the old X person who scorned our kids for staying out there cheering, at least we didn't have a kid run on the field and taunt security as they were trying to get him off the field, holding a yellow St.X football. I'm glad I stayed in the stands as long as I did . In closing , I will tell you this; take care of yours, and we will take care of ours ,and God will take care of us all.

I think that a lot of X people have clung to the notion that the best team didn't win last December. Regardless of how this game would have ended up (and I do think we were headed for a big Trinity win), I think we can put to rest the notion that December was a fluke.

Can we all agree on the following stipulations?

 

1) Both St. X and Trinity agreed to end this game as a "no contest" and that the "winner" was only determined by the rules. The AD's and coaches intended that this would be a "no contest" result and understood that it could not be made up later in the season.

It is the A.D.s job to know the KHSAA and National Federatiopn rules. In this case probably 51%/49% more St.X's responsibility as they were the home team. I wonder if the X A.D. had known it would go down as a loss if he would have tried harder to finish the game on Monday? (I'm sure it's a lot easier to accept a "no contest" when you are down 10-0 and your opponent has the ball on your side of the field.)

I have a lot of T and X friends. Without any doubt, the T people wanted the game to resume a LOT more than my X friends.

To be honest, I know that it has gotten under my skin. I have gotten the feeling from a lot of X people that somehow last years title was somewhat defective because the "best (sic)" team didn't win. I felt the same attitude after the 94 title. I'll admit that that attitude gets under my skin, but it also made the wins in 94, 05 and last Friday all the sweeter.

The X attitude that there are only games they win and games they should have won, never games they lost gets under my skin.

 

The quote from Glasier in the pre season where he flat out said the best team didn't win the championship gets under my skin because it takes away from what the Trinity PLAYERS (not coaches or fans) accomplished.

 

The whole attitude from X that the "LAST GAME" was more about what they didn't do rather the what Trinity did do gets under my skin.

 

This was my 9th T/X game (I'm naturalized, not native born:D ) and this was the first time I smelled blood in the water. I really believe that X was in for a long night.

I understand that X will have to go through Male to get another shot at Trinity. We all know Male is tough. Is there decent team Trinity would have to face in th 1-2 rounds?

I have not seen but 10 minutes of the Rocks this year but early on they were getting #5 the ball a ton. He is fast, hard to see and has good hands. He seems to be their main weapon. Who picks up the slack when he is out?

 

I felt like we were watching the finals again with everything going wrong for X. Poor tackling, turnovers, etc... How wide open was that tight end on that pick??? I was expecting a 15 yd gain until the ball was 10 yds short. Trinity had the "swagger" and X looked asleep.

 

If we are lucky enough to get past Male we better not spot the Rocks 10 and the ball or it could get rough.

 

Write this down if we lose to Male. Trinity will beat Male again mainly because like last time Redmon won't stop the junk defense.
