As for Wade I dont think its throwing him under a train to say he was forcing throws and made some bad decisions and needed to be replaced.

52-0 might be a little much. But I do think it looked like Trinity's night. I don't expect any X guys to say that out loud, I respect your support of your team. I also think that if you think that it was probable that X was going to stage a comeback without Vic and going with the running QB you're wishing and hoping a little bit.

Sure Trinity came out and looked good and was certainly dominating the game but there wasnt even a full quarter played. Highlands came out and dominated X in the first half of their game and X was down at the half but look how that game ended up.

 

Two points. In the Highlands game X came out and tried a lot of un-X like things on offense. They trailed 7-6 at half. Then they came out and handed the ball to Vic. It was the Vic Anderson show with a little Duece thrown in. X lost that option in this game. Its one thing to get yards after your opponent is keying on someone else that is an All-American, its another to get them when everyone in the stadium knows you're getting the ball. Lets say that Duece may one day pass that test, but he failed the quiz last night.

Secondly, Trinity has the same depth as X unlike Highlands.

Well you don't have one now. I'll be honest listening to the BG game I thought that Duece might press Vic. After attending the LexCath game and watching the Highlands game it was obvious that Vic still was the MAN. Not dissing Duece, but you can't really say that he came in and lifted the team. X isn't the same team without Vic. JMO.

 

FYI, a quiz is sort of like a mini-test. Hence my analogy versus a test. BTW, I guess its my liberal arts education but I've actually taken quite a few one question exams.

Well, I guess Trinity will never ever get a W against St.X that their fans think we deserve. There is nothing more than I wanted last night MORE THAN 4 quarters. I couldn't find one T fan that wanted the game to be called. While we looked like gangbusters and they were on their heels, why would a T fan want that game stopped other than the obvious reasons for human safety.

Any how ,X will beat Male both times they play and meet us again. It might be a whole different game then , so in reality , a game that drew 30,000 fans doesn't mean anything . Especially when there was 1:16 left in the first qtr. when it was called.Trinity's ball on the 44 yard line. And Trinity ahead 10-0.

 

I sat there in the stands to the bitter end, with all the T students displaying their school pride by standing there and cheering the whole night. What a great place, and great spirit to be a part of !

and for the old X person who scorned our kids for staying out there cheering, at least we didn't have a kid run on the field and taunt security as they were trying to get him off the field, holding a yellow St.X football. You deserved this win (according to the rules) and the State Championship last year...no one is disputing that....Just disputing the what ifs.....

 

I have found no one on either side that wanted the game to end like this.....

X came out on fire during the first quarter of the state championship game last year and had momentum too. We all remember how that game ended up. Based on past experiences Im not ready to throw in the towel and say that Trinity would have won. Thats just my opinion.

 

 

Last time I checked; St X had more oppurtunities to score then we did, and was on the field just as long as Trinity was. Also, 7-6 at halftime is not domination...its a close game. 10-0 at the first quarter and just recovering a fumble is domination.

Trying awful hard to find a villian....I have given more credit to T players by name and/or position than any poster in this thread....any T or X poster...

Phillips was hit in the backfield on that play, but broke the arm tackle.

 

Also, the kids that ran onto the field and were chased off by security turned to the T section as they ran off and the students cheered for them. Sounds to me like they were T kids.

 

X didn't play like X for the 10 minutes the "game" was played. To say that the game would have been 13 or 17-0 with T having the ball is a bit presumptious. X's D did a fine job of holding T to a field goal with the ball inside the redzone.

 

I just hope that a full game is played in November. I'm willing to bet that X isn't going to hand the ball to T twice like that.

I'm surprised that X couldn't mount much of an offense against an injury riddled BG team but went on to hang 47, 58 and 35 on pretty good teams in the following weeks. First games are like that. FYI, MBA is pretty good too.
