Trinity 10 St. X 0

Here's my two cents on the money issue. That was not the factor. The Trinity -vs- St. Xavier game has gotten bigger than the players, for good or bad. The schools had already gotten their money, so that certainly wasn't an issue. You don't here anybody clamoring for a refund now, I doubt they would if they couldn't get in the gate at another venue. Saturday, would've been just as useless as Friday night. That puts us to Sunday, I don't think, with district games (much more important logistically) coming up, that puts both schools behind the 8-ball to get ready for this Friday. For Trinity that really wouldn't have been an issue. For X, with Vic hurt, and Manual coming up, who knows? The right decision was made, as much as it sucks for us, for the teams involved.

^I second you Rock Pride. How many fans would have really asked for a refund? I got my monies worth from the 10 minutes of play plus from the parking lot. Trying to re-schedule for either team doesn't make sense with their remaining district games. Here's a thought, if both teams meet back up in November, would they like to start off where they left off?

Exactly

Male wanted no part of a makeup either.

Please explain.

I know the game is over but here is a thought about the end result. The Teams should have ended it just like the last Rocky movie ended. When Rocky and Appollo Creed go into an empty gym and duke it out without anyone watching to see who the real champ is. The teams should have went to the Trager Indoor Practice Facility and finished the game. The only people allowed in are players, coaches, refs, managers, and trainers. I would let the student sections in also and have them stand in the endzones.

GO ROCKS!

I thought Ivan Drago killed Apollo Creed in Rocky IV.

Rocky V was the last one (Rocky VI is due out this December) and featured Tommy Gunn taking on Rocky. You are correct about Rocky IV, but it was not the last in the series.

Sorry, I guess I dont have my rocky facts down. blockbuster here i come!

I'm just bored and mad about the way Bama lost. Like I posted earlier, its not all about the fans. I'm sure if told them there is no room and you have stay away and listen to the radio to make sure the game is played...What about the other fields, is Manual Stadium different? Doesn't X pay to use it? Fields get tore up during games the kids wear cleats. Kat its a 2 and half hour ride one way to Owensboro, and be done it once. Ok, I'm done. Don't want to make you guys & gals mad until later. Good Luck on Friday. "Riders on the Storm".

I don't think the decision was made with anything in mind but the safety of all involved. Both schools' byes have been consumed. There are no open dates. Weather on Saturday was no better than Friday, so no matter what, that wouldn't have been an option. Both teams have to play their district games and preparation begins with film on Saturday. So, it's a shame, but no one was ducking anyone, and it's just a fact of life that sometimes circumstances occur that are out of our control.

I know of no fan asking for their money back. Whether I paid $5, $10, $15 or more, I'd never ask for my money back. It was an "Act of God", so to speak. The schools should feel no obligation to those who bought tickets, and the people who bought tickets should not feel they are owed anything.

The money, whether for a 10 minute game or a 2 hour game, benefits our schools, our students. Small donation in the overall scheme of things, don't you think.

Good luck to X in the upcoming weeks.

And, as always...
