February 18, 20179 yr During my teaching days I always thought it was easier to break up a fight between boys than girls. With boys usually one will back off after a punch or so but with girls after the punches are thrown there's the eventual wrestling on the floor with death grips on each other's hair, while continuing to punch with one fist and kick with the legs. I've come out of some of those struggles with a few bruises myself.
February 18, 20179 yr I'm sure that is the best plan of action but it seems that it would be hard to see a kid getting attacked and not try to help. Agreed but maybe let the teams' adults handle it.
February 18, 20179 yr Agreed but maybe let the teams' adults handle it. I don't doubt that's the best course of action. My reaction would be to try to stop it myself.
February 18, 20179 yr This had to be building up all game. I don't think they just got to the jump ball and decided to throw punches.
February 18, 20179 yr Given the history of violence between these two programs, why was the officiating so loose? Look at the beginning of the play, notice the girl going to the basket is being arm barred the entire way. In this type of game, given the history, you can't let calls like this go. You have to call every thing, even if teams don't have enough kids to finish. 3 officials on the court and not one can see a girl being arm barred for over 20 feet?
February 19, 20179 yr That #34 for Henry Clay should be suspended forever. She was getting her "shots in" one way or another.....pun intended. I would think she has seen her last game of the year.
February 19, 20179 yr Does anybody know how long it will take the KHSAA to act on the suspensions and if the schools will self impose suspensions?
February 19, 20179 yr On the KHSAA scoreboard they now have the game result as a 52-25 win for Henry Clay.

I've come out of some of those struggles with a few bruises myself. Girls get dirty and hold grudges and get super duper emotional in these situations, much more so than guys. I would say that's my opinion but I believe that's pretty much fact. Those girl fights can get pretty darn ugly.
February 20, 20179 yr On the KHSAA scoreboard they now have the game result as a 52-25 win for Henry Clay. Maybe they just stopped it and declared the game final, with that being the score.
