February 9, 20179 yr You can post it as many times as you want and you have about a 50 percent chance of being right. Recent sunspot activity and global temperatures suggest that we may be entering a prolonged period of global cooling. The cycles of the sun and its heat output is not an insignificant factor in climate change. The triggers to some of the 'cool periods' of history are linked to sun spot minimum activity. Like CO2 and temperature the correlation is obvious. The causation can be debated. But at least the situations have played out and are not a hypothetical model. The Maunder Minimum is probably the most famous of the minimums. John Penhallurick’s Blog 2 Evidence from past climate change | jpenhall The beginning of the Little Ice Age 1280-1300 to 1850 AD (which none of the Climate models can explain) coincided with the Wolf Minimum of the Sun(1280-1340 AD). Other solar minima during this period include the Spörer Minimum (1450-1540 AD), the Maunder Minimum (1645-1715 AD), the coldest period in the Little Ice Age; and the Dalton Minimum (1795-1825 AD). Not surprisingly, since these events involved solar minima, their effects were experienced world-wide. That it affected all continents and all major islands from New Zealand in the South Pacific to Svalbard in the ArcticSea is clear. (see Grove, J. M. 1988) The Little Ice Age was not a uniformly cold episode, however. In Europe and North America, at least six phases of glacial expansion occurred. These were separated by warmer periods. The current cycle shows a fairly dramatic decrease in sun-spots (and their associated energy). The last 3 cycles have been lower than the cycle in the late 1970s and early 1980s. So the trend could be headed for a grand minimum.

February 9, 20179 yr Whether its happening or not, there are not enough sound data from a long period of time in respect to the Earths age to support any of these theories. Its like the evolution theory. Man evolved from primates over a long period of time. I see pictures from all sides of Darwinism showing the start of this evolution and then we come to man. Well there are still primates, and if this is true, then where are the half man half primates that this was based on now. We still have primates correct? Same with this theory. Time will tell the tale whether this is true or not. It just so happens this global warming theory does not have enough time like Darwinism to be proven incorrect.( who really believed that Darwinism crap anyway?)

February 12, 20179 yr There were flies out today. Slow-moving ones, but flies nonetheless. At 8am. Hey, let it get cold again and kill them. Less flies for summer. :woot:
February 12, 20179 yr I looked at one long range forecast for Southern Kentucky and it looks like we have a near zero chance of any more snow this winter. Temperature trends all show temps well above freezing for the foreseeable future. Of course just last year we had some of the deepest snows I've ever experienced in this area.
