Global warming.

Why not to the bolded? Every time I drive I-74 from Ky to Iowa I pass by dozens upon dozens of windmill farms amidst the endless sea of cornfields. Those people in Central Illinois are most decidedly not folks who tow the liberal line. Hell, there's a good 30 miles of road signs out on the edge of properties abutting the interstate talking about how Illinois' gun laws are foolish. Are those country farmers that nuanced in their political beliefs?
What does politics have to do with my post? Is wind viable as a supplement, yes. Is it the solution, nope. The majority of the population just doesn't live where the wind is.

I always defer to my dog on issues as deep as this. I just asked him, "bub do you believe in global warming?" It's sixty degrees in January as he deftly licked his boy parts. I took that as a resounding yes. My dog indeed believes in global warming.

Yeah but what do we do with all that spent fuel.

Currently much of the spent fuel that already exists could be further exhausted and reused in more modern and more efficient reactors. That said, there are currently some fusion reactor proposals that actually would convert the spent fuel to plasma and consume it that way. If those work then we could end up with a perfect solution.

Money would be better spent there than on fracking and drill baby drill, as battery technology has been improving dramatically over the last few years electric cars will likely be more viable in the near future.

We aren't going to phase out fossil fuels completely for some time, but it will be a gradual thing as we improve technology. Solar is becoming much more viable, although if we get into a trade war with China that could cause issues here.

Our problem is the US is the leader in the world and we have elected a climate change denier with a climate change denier cabinet.

So you are already blaming climate change on Trump?

Do I agree with his position and does it concern me...yes? But how can he be "the problem"....it goes back farther than today.

There are too many people on the planet, and/or how they are distributed is not managed.

It's a very nice globally warm 62 today in Lexington as I drive by Fayette Mall.

One might think it was April. Not January.

Denyers just keep denying because the weather just keeps proving you wrong.

Money should be spent where the market determines it should be spent. Battery technology must improve drastically before solar and wind energy will ever be real alternatives to fossil fuels. Nuclear energy is cost effective today and the large utility companies should be free to begin catching up with their counterparts in France and other nations.

I just returned from eastern Kentucky and witnessed again how the previous administration's regulatory policies have devastated that area's economy - not just in the short term, but for decades to come. I look forward to the diversification of our energy sources, but I do not want our federal government to play any bigger role in that diversification than is absolutely necessary.

I feel like the timing of winter has changed more so than the temps. I feel like especially the last couple of years that winter has started more towards the end of January and gone into April. Whereas in prior years winter has always been thought of as December - February.

When it's 30 in March or April, will you post the opposite?

Lol that's exactly what I was getting at, I feel like the timing of the seasons has changed.

Yep winter comes later now it seems. We did just have a very mild summer here in ky this year also.

I am first to admit, I do not know as much as I should about this. The other day the high temperature record was from the 1880's. Was global warming an issue then? I would see if we were breaking records from the last few years but this particular day has stood for over 100 years

The man-made global warming propagandists have repeatedly been caught falsifying the ground based temperature data. We have had occasional 60 and even 70 degree days in January for my entire life. Suddenly because liberal politicians like Al Gore seek more control and wealth for themselves through any means necessary, we are supposed to see such days as proof of global warming? Nonsense.

Satellite monitoring of global temperatures shows no recent warming. In fact, sunspot activity is near historic low levels and such activity has historically been associated with extended cooling periods on planet Earth.

Highest/Lowest temperatures each month in Cincinnati

April 15° (1997) 90° (1930)

May 27° (1963) 95° (1937)

June 39° (1972) 102° (1988)

July 47° (1963) 108° (1934)

August 43° (1986) 103° (1936)

September 31° (1993) 102° (1953)

October 16° (1962) 91° (2007)

Trump will not attempt to lead the world in advances that will ease man's effect on the environment.

Any issues with that substance that covers most of the planet?
