Why not to the bolded? Every time I drive I-74 from Ky to Iowa I pass by dozens upon dozens of windmill farms amidst the endless sea of cornfields. Those people in Central Illinois are most decidedly not folks who tow the liberal line. Hell, there's a good 30 miles of road signs out on the edge of properties abutting the interstate talking about how Illinois' gun laws are foolish. Are those country farmers that nuanced in their political beliefs?
Wind will never be an efficient, viable option in my opinion.
Any issues with that substance that covers most of the planet?
Lots of issues, especially the pollution pouring into the ocean from third-world and developing countries that either have few environmental laws or largely ignore those that they have on the books. Over fishing is also of great concern to me. I miss the days that Long John Silver's served thick fillets of Icelandic cod. The pollution of our oceans is a real threat to the well being of humans in this world.

As far as I can tell, the cases of scientific fraud related to "climate change," such as the one perpetrated by Dr. Michael Mann, have gone almost ignored and unpunished. When politicians begin doling out money to scientists in exchange for the results that they expect, fraud is an almost certain outcome.

In real science, when actual results fail to match the results predicted by models, scientists begin considering alternative theories. With the global warming research being financed by governments, the models have simply been changed and the historical ground temperature records have been adjusted to better fit the models.

The 11-year sunspot cycle is well known to any amateur radio operator, but there are other, longer term cycles that affect the irradiance of the sun. Scientists believe that these cycles were responsible for the periods such as the Little Ice Age.

As was done 40 years ago. Remember playing golf on New Years day - over 60 degrees in the 70s.

I also remember the Ohio River freezing in the 70's in December and January it was so cold...weather changes...imagine that...

What's wrong with supplementing what we already have, though? Seems to me we would want every possible source of power in play, but those in the oil business go out of their way to dismiss it like we shouldn't even bother. Every time I drive up to Iowa I see more and more wind farms. Must be something to it.

We should be trying to harness other forms of energy. Then you get the crybabies about how wind farms kill birds. How solar farms are ugly. Can't harness the energy of waves because of sea life. Government puts people in jail for saving rain water or putting up small wind generators. Remember the soldier they made move because he didn't have electric or running water in his trailer. Government stifles progress but then cries about it? I dont get it?

Nothing at all as long as the government's intervention is minimal. A company wants to build wind farms and sell the energy they produce, go for it. Don't prop up the alternatives by giving them bundles of cash while at the same time regulating traditional fuels out of existence or making them so expensive people can't afford them.

Dear Humans,

Thanks for the 60 degree weather here in Kentucky on January 25, we all know it's not supposed to be cold in January.
