February 12, 20179 yr It is over the top to take one day or one month and say it makes the case for or against global warming. Our world is very good about blowing up a small example and claiming it proves their point. Sixteen straight years of the warmest temperatures on record get my attention. Yes, that is a small glimpse of 6,000 years of this world's history (is that the correct amount of time the world has been around?). And ... I know, I know ... the thermostats have been recalibrated by Soros. But seriously, our world this century is warmer than it has been in recorded history. Should we just ignore it? At what point does it get your attention? Do you need 30 years of the warmest temperatures and our coastlines rising 2 feet? Do you need 100 years? Do you need droughts across the planet from the heat? When do you consider that perhaps man can have an impact on the world's temperature? Naw. Smoke 'em if you got 'em. Let our grandchildren worry about it.

February 12, 20179 yr Author :lol2: mountain ref, please don't take offense. Not my intent. I absolutely love reading your posts and think BGP would be a dull place without you. You are an interesting guy, I hope I get to meet you one day. Ah no offense taken. I hope to meet you one day too.
February 13, 20179 yr It always has, it always will. What I want to know is what does the left think they can actually do to change what happens naturally? I repeat. What does the left think they can actually do to change what happens naturally? Are taxes going to make it all better?
February 13, 20179 yr Naw. Smoke 'em if you got 'em. Let our grandchildren worry about it. Burn styrofoam for fuel, I say. God and the Earth will definitely fix it. That's why the Cuyahoga River burned. The Lord cleansed it with flames because fire purifies.
February 13, 20179 yr Your going to see a larger trend. The temps for the rest of the month and next month are 50s and 60s. Now that's softball weather I can enjoy at the beginning of the season.
February 13, 20179 yr You have the AC on? Open a window! :lol2:He'd have to roll the stone away from the entrance to his cave.

Yes, and then I might be swayed to buy what some are trying to sell......until then it's all a bunch of horse:poop:
February 13, 20179 yr I believe in an all powerful, all knowing GOD. If the earth is slightly warmer then there is more plants to provide O2 to keep up with the population explosion and the additional co2. Longer growing seasons to provide food for the additional people. Life thrives in warmer climates. What some see as the end I see as balance by one who we can never begin to understand. Should we be better care takers, yes. Do any of us think we know better, have more insight of the future, can control more than God? I fear not. His plans are perfect and just. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see half of california and the east coast become manmade reefs anyway. Spread those fools out. Some of those east coasters like myself, have already spread out. Thanks though for the kind thoughts and wishes for my hometown to end up underwater, and being so kind as to label us folks as fools simply based on where we live or are from.

February 13, 20179 yr Can folks on either side of this debate honestly say that they know with any certainty anything that can justify their rolled eyes and snorts of derision toward the other side that typically comes with their commentary? I didn't think so. I don't find the topic comical, and it's certainly worthy of discussion, yet it is rather peculiar to hear people speak with such certainty that would suggest that if you don't see it their way you must certainly be a fool, short-sighted, and gullible. I can't say with any certainty anything regarding global warming, yet my gut doesn't at all find it far-fetched that humans could have had a negative effect on Planet Earth since the Industrial Revolution. Have they? I don't know. Is it worth considering? Sure...I believe that it is. All rational is worthy of consideration one way or another, but what I don't get is the arrogance that gets sprinkled throughout the discussion that would suggest that anyone knows for sure. YOU DON'T KNOW FOR SURE. If you didn't get that, I'll repeat it... YOU DON'T KNOW FOR SURE. Just because you start a thought with "it's only logical to think that..." while you snort doesn't necessarily make what you're saying accurate or logical, and it certainly doesn't prove anything that's worthy of condescension. One interesting historical reality is that since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, environmentalist types have often accurately expressed concerns about human's destructive effect on the environment, air quality, water quality, and other such common sense topics as recycling, yet there have always been those who have tried to sabotage their efforts every step of the way labeling these forward thinkers as kooks, fruits, nuts, tree huggers, beatniks, weirdos etc... yet because of them we as a culture have advanced in our thinking, and even the doubter types with short memories, who rarely acknowledge the environmentalists' valuable contributions for pushing for these important causes, have also benefitted greatly. No, they quickly forget and disregard history while ironically continuing to play the role of doubter while also ignoring that it is they who have been the gullible ones allowing large cooperations brainwash them to join along with the anti-environmentalist rhetoric, because large cooperations were thinking profits first ahead of the environment, and were resistant to have to make costly changes in their manufacturing procedures for the sake of the planet. That damaging mindset has lingered and is still echoed by those who won't acknowledge the forward thinking of environmentalists while they continue to sound like they've never learned a thing about so quickly disregarding worthy environmental concerns. So will the doubters continue to forget and repeat history, and continue to be wrong while it appears that their first order of the day is to pompously degrade environmentalists who typically tend to think ahead of the game? If they're right and we aim to look for no way to correct things, where will we be? If we take the route to ignore it and classify it as rubbish to possibly later suffer consequences, where will we be? If we take the doubter's path then it's the "End of the discussion". You good with that if by chance you turn out to be wrong as anti-environmentalist doubters have historically been?
