Jeff Brohm to Purdue

Featured Replies

I love tailgating on The Hill. I'm sure I'll be there a time or two while he's there.

It's not easy, but you can win there. Joe Tiller took them to 10 bowl games during his 12 years there. Unfortunately for the Boilermakers, Hope and Hazell were aweful.

WKU beats UC by 2 scores.... going from WKU to UC would have been lateral at best

And WKU beats Purdue by 3 scores but he took the job there.

WKU had an attendance of 12000 at the C-USA conference championship with the Khsaa state championships in town...

Time to move on. 20 mill helps.

Purdue=UK

6-6 or 7-5 is a great year. You ever go 9-3, and you will have a statue outside.

I think Purdue is more Vanderbilt than UK.

Same concept applies but it's easier to win at UK than Purdue and Vanderbilt. Imo.

Not gonna lie, I was really hoping Brohm would've ended up at U.K. After they canned Stoops, but he finished strong and keeps his job.

I disagree, I think Brohm would've stayed at WKU rather than take the Cincinnati job.

Agreed. Despite what some say or think UC isn't much of a gig.

UC: Michigan State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, bad fit Hall of Fame coach

What a nightmare, and terrible gig. Can't believe so many of you are begging to die on this hill...

Purdue: RIP, RIP, Joe Tiller, RIP, RIP, RIP

Here lies the career of Jeff Brohm.

I'm sure he will make someone a fantastic OC in 4 years. Checks cash, though. Well, as long as Purdue can find a way to turn the 35 million they get into a profit.

Career suicide...

I won't disagree

Great money but that's a step back IMO

A step back from WKU? Absolutely not.

With the kind of contract he is getting, he can call it a career if he gets canned at age 50 or so.

ANY P5 team is a step up from WKU, Boise State, BYU, UC, Western Michigan, etc. It's about $$, facilities, and recruiting advantage. Some P5's may not be better in any given year(s), but they have a significant advantage. Not hardly debateable.

Boise State and BYU are debatable to me.

Boise State and BYU are debatable to me.

If they were independent like ND, then maybe, not attached to a non-P5 conference

Stepping stone and nothing more. Not much of a gig. Atleast Kelly got them upgraded facilities.
