HHS vs Lou. St. Xavier

Featured Replies

I agree! We saw Beaumont -- saw him go by on the left -- saw him go by on the right...;)

I think they will be adjusted for Mr. Anderson. We just need the offense to click and special teams to play well.

I don't know if we'll pull off the win; but it will not be a blow-out! I think a few of the X faithful are living in last year.

Thanks -- that proves my point very well! I'm basing my prediction on this year. Not what happened last year. :thumb:
I am not even going into who wins...I am more interested in the important things like.....is the "Big Red Bus" going to be there???

I will put in a call to see what I can find out. But that is definitely the best part of the trip. Between Sweeperboy, Boom, tdyballgame, and backtoauction, and I almost forgot spaghetti head, it should be a rockin' in the rock pile next to PBS on Saturday afternoon!!!

While your at would ask if they mind if TD stops by for an inspection of the bus??

I was wondering if we would be playing in the sandbox again this year also. Let me know what time and where.

Does HHS have the horses to stay fresh for 48 minutes?

I think that might be the real key to victory here.

As MC posted, I don't think fatigue will be a factor. We still looked very fresh at the end of the Elder game and made a long td scoring drive to get it within 3 with about 2 minutes left in the game. Only way fatigue factors in is if we don't get our legs back after playing Elder last week. No one got hurt and the only starter not playing is the defensive lineman who got thrown out towards the end of the game. So unlike the game last year when we came off of the Colerain loss beat up like a Texas mule, we should be healthy this year. We also are much deeper this year and have many more returning starters (last year for those who don't recall, we had about 75% new starters and 5 or 6 of them were sophomores). While it won't be an easy task for sure, I think we can beat the X Tigers. Have to play disciplined, error free football, but we can do it. Good luck Birds. Hope you face this game determined to do what it takes to win. You know you beat Elder everywhere but on the scoreboard. Take your frustrations out on X.

Tigers by three TDs.

Excellent synopsis, thanks ;)

Would beating St. X be an upset? I like Highlands in a close one.:sssh:

This would be a major major upset. St. X will win by at least 28;)

Not a great way to prognosticate....I wouldn't rely on this method often.

Thanks for the tip, I'm kind of new at this and I'll keep it in mind in the future. But, this week I'll still take Highlands by a touchdown.

I see, I see, good-luck to the birds though from your Southeastern Kentucky fans. Would love to see an upset, and a state title this year:thumb:

This is rarer sighting that a Saskwatch, a Highlands fan outside of Ft. Thomas. Quick, someone find my camera.:D

Highlands 24

ST. X 14

Not the same team as last year Highlands will not have to throw the ball in this one.:flame:

While the Birds run the ball very well, I'm not sure its the case that we won't have to throw the ball in this one. Have to keep the lbers and corners honest. I fully expect the Birds to throw the ball more and more each week as Cecil becomes more comfortable and experienced in the qb spot. I actually believe by the CovCath game, we'll throw the ball as much as we run it. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cecil throw the ball more than you expect against X. And as for the margin of victory, while I'd love a 10 point win, I'd be more than happy with a 1 point win myself. X is good, real good.

I doubt that you would be able to pound St. Xavier to defeat. I have NEVER seen that happen.

Mike Bush lit us up pretty good in 02...twice.
