I'm not sure he touched the ball the last quarter and a half. It went all Kramer, than all Cecil. They both run hard at all times...everyone for that matter. Those kids play hard.

And they were both worn out! Why no Hurtt, Ball, Koester or Conner? Drives me nuts!

I know from where i was standing there was some serious hitting going on. Both sides of the ball. Man there were some licks laid tonight. Highlands defense played awesome. The o-line is probably one the better o-lines i've seen in a long time. What a bunch of studs!!!!!!:ylsuper:

The HHS O-Line looked good this week and the CCHS O-Line looked solid last week too. HHS vs CCHS should be an interesting game !:fight: :fight:

Injured?

The Birds played very well tonight. They kept Elder's offense in check all night. Elder had only 1 sustained drive and 2 TD's that came not on drives but on single plays after Highlands mis-play on punts. Other than that the Birds stuffed Elder all night.

 

On offense, the birds probably doubled up Elder in total yards. The Elder defensive line did little in the way of pressuring Cecil . They may have sacked him once.

 

Anyone that was watching the game knows the better team did not win tonight.

 

If those same teams line up for 10 games, Highlands wins at least seven. Unfortunately tonight they just made too many mistakes. And don't let anyone tell you that Elder pressured them into the mistakes or caused the turnovers. No, Elder just benefitted from the mistakes, they had no hand in causing them.

 

Good game Birds, you can sleep well tonight knowing you bloodied up the big guy from across the river.

Luke Stein made some great catches and YAC's...I think he ran over everyone that got in his way.

I heard several people comment about him. He had one play at mid-field where he took on two Elder defenders at once, and just about blew right through them.

How did Drew Simons play?

Elder's mvp was their punter....That kid killed the ball all night long..Simons needs to play wideout and be out on the field . He is the only wr they have that is any type of a weapon. I know Dale doesn't want to have kids play both ways but he needs to be out there...:ylsuper:

I thought that Highlands definitely outplayed Elder tonight. Elder is going to struggle in the GCL this year. Thought that Cecil played a very good game tonight, but something needs to give with the pass routes that they run. You cannot complete passes when all receivers run to the same side of the field. Still do not understand why there are not 2 guys back on punt returns. If there are 2 back, the punter is not the player of the game.

This all sounds very familiar.
