My man I rarely watch Cable news. I mostly watch CNN if I do because they are a liberal network that tries to be fair most the time .

If you increase regulation on an industry, thereby driving up production costs, AND deny new drilling that would likely increase production and therefore reduce the cost of the end product, and the price goes down any way, there may be another factor not yet considered.

 

Attributing the drop in fuel costs to O'BAma, as the poster I responded to was implying, is preposterous. The actions taken by O'Bama regarding oil production cannot result in a reduction in cost. In addition, fuel costs have always been effected most by Middle Eastern oil producers. That is most likely the direction we should look for an explanation for why the gas prices have dropped since he took office. This is my point. It wasn't a simplistic answer.

I didn't say nothing good never happens. I responded to a post where someone was pointing out that the price of gasoline dropped during O'Bama's terms and implied that it was his policies that did so. I asked which of his policies had the result of reducing the gas price.

 

As I pointed out in the first paragraph, O'Bama has not been a friend of the oil industry. He adds regulation and disallows drilling, two things that have the opposite effect of lowering the price on oil.

 

My only point is that gas prices came down, but not because of anything O'Bama did. It was the oil producing companies in the M. E, that determined the price of crude. This is also what Twotoplace said.

 

Fracking in the US had little to do with gasoline, but everything to do with natural gas. O'Bama was opposed to fracking, as are nearly all left-leaning environmentalists. Fortunately, i don't think it cause the great environmental disaster that was feared.

Add that the DNC looked like a Republican convention in many respects. They co-opted patriotism, love of country, greatness of country, respect for and admiration of law enforcement and the military.

 

And none of the violent protest that was predicted by many at either convention.

Gas prices are down because of a glut of oil. Drilling increased dramatically under Obama. If Obama is so opposed to oil and drilling, this dramatic increase should be considered the greatest failure of his presidency.

 

All these articles show how much oil production increased from fracking and thus leading to lower gasoline prices.

This was not a kumbaya moment for either convention and they both had to deal with contentious factions. However, from four total state's delegates walking out to the request that security not wear too obvious uniforms on the convention floor to the Philadelphia Police Chief having to make a request of the Democratic Chairperson for a speaker representing law officers lives lost and for the final night's disgraceful and disrespectful actions. I think we all know which side behaved more badly. And these are the same kinds ( if not THE same) of disruptors who have created problems for Trump Rallies all year. How many, you ask, one disrespectful person is too many when a life is put on the line.

Which party is in control? I believe the Republican party has controlled both houses of Congress for the last 6 years.

 

And a Democrat in the Whitehouse for the last eight.

I don't see 90 percent either, but perception does matter. The Dems appear united; the GOP is divided. That'll be meaningful on Nov. 8. What also will be interesting is: Will Romney endorse Johnson, as has been rumored? If so, will that open the floodgates? Stay tuned.
