Historic speech? I don't think Bill is impressed!

 

Not according to some of the former Secret Service people who was assigned security for her in the past. They said an assignment to Hillary was considered a punishment by the members of the service.. One of them said if you as much as glanced her way she would shout, 'What the f are you looking at?" One of them wrote a book about it. Of course there's a possibility that the stories are embellished, but they've been told by more than one. She is difficult to work with and for.

 

Many stories over the years of her treating SS and military like dirt. I've said it before, she outdoes Nixon in psychopathic behavior.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that stuff has been going on LONG before Obama got to office. The difference lately is that it isn't just swept under the rug like so many (regardless of whether they'll admit it) would prefer.

Also, I saw an article last night from Fox complaining about high gas prices under Obama. (8 years ago this month the average for a gallon of gas in the U.S. was $4.12, so I don't see how they could complain).

 

Then, there was another Fox article complaining towards Obama that the gas prices were too low.

 

Yet another example that no matter what Obama does, and no matter what happens under Obama he can't win, they will complain.

I think everyone must've watched different conventions than I did. Outside of the First Lady and Ivanka Trump's speeches (which were phenomenal), they were both incredibly difficult to watch. Regardless of which one wins, we lose.

 

Actually liked Hilary's and Bill's individual speech's as well as the one's you mentioned. One things for sure they, as well as, Obama does know how to speak

How did O'Bama's policies cause the gas prices to drop from $4/gal to $2/gal? Probably had to do with foreign oil production and manipulation by the Oil Producing Companies. IMO, nothing O'Bama did brought the prices down. For instance, he's done everything he can to block drilling in the US or near its coast, esp. in Alaska which makes us dependent on foreign oil. I would like to see the govt encourage drilling and move towards energy independence.

If it's a bad thing, it's the President.

If it's a good thing, it's somebody else.

The price of crude ($41-$42) is a far bigger factor re: slowing of production in Alaska and North Dakota. In other words, if you like $2.19 gas at your local SuperAmerica, don't expect a bump in U.S. oil production anytime soon. If you want to blame anyone, blame OPEC for pumping at full capacity when the price of crude was double what it is today.

Add that the DNC looked like a Republican convention in many respects. They co-opted patriotism, love of country, greatness of country, respect for and admiration of law enforcement and the military.

 

And none of the violent protest that was predicted by many at either convention.

If you increase regulation on an industry, thereby driving up production costs, AND deny new drilling that would likely increase production and therefore reduce the cost of the end product, and the price goes down any way, there may be another factor not yet considered.

 

Attributing the drop in fuel costs to O'BAma, as the poster I responded to was implying, is preposterous. The actions taken by O'Bama regarding oil production cannot result in a reduction in cost. In addition, fuel costs have always been effected most by Middle Eastern oil producers. That is most likely the direction we should look for an explanation for why the gas prices have dropped since he took office. This is my point. It wasn't a simplistic answer.

That was exactly my point. O'Bama's actions were not the cause for the price of gas to go down. If anything, his actions would counter to that. The real reason is foreign production and sales. When the sheiks get together and determine what price they will charge for crude, that is the price of crude. We cannot affect that as long as we are dependent on foreign oil.

Every president gets that. Plus, wasn't gas about $2 when he took office, maybe less?

I couldn't count them lol. But Mcpapa had an extreme exaggeration of what the Democrat convention was. It's a narrative that some on the left are trying to paint. But it isn't what played out on TV.
