The post I quoted mentioned "delegates booing" and I wanted to know how extensive it was. I went back and found the clip and it was 3-4 loudmouth jerks shouting out something, I didn't hear any booing on the clip I watched. I did notice an overwhelming silence which means they were respecting the fallen officers. I refuse to condemn a group of thousands over a few jerks. Happens all too often.

 

But 3 or 4 jerks is 3 or 4 too many, it only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch. And I have no desire to return to the wonderful seventies when soldiers returning from Vietnam, ordered there mostly by a Democratic President, and were spit upon and booed as they walked through the airport. Statements from those soldiers broke my heart. And I thought we were done with that type of actions. I had five brothers and I watched my Mother's worry. Boo the war. Don't boo or spit on the soldier whose life is on the line. I'm from a military family and I will always defend our soldiers.

This has been the case for years. I remember Leno had a gag where he walked around asking questions about American politics 20 years ago. I think Kimmel does it today.

Because people are very jaded on all these issues. They see 95% of them as political gamesmanship.

 

For example I will give you two that I see as more bologna then actual concerns on Hillary. Number one the whole DNC thing is overblown media hype. Two, Benghazi ... one of the biggest wastes of time and dollars by Congress that I can recall. I believe it should have been investigated but not 6 or 7 times. And at the end of the day I see nothing there that Hillary did that concerns me. There are other things about Hillary that concern me greatly but nothing from Benghazi.

 

The problem for the right on all the Hillary attacks is at some point it starts sounding like the boy who cried wolf and it gets tuned out. It would be much more effective to pick the two most concerning issues and focus all the energy on them

 

I don't think anyone is jaded on the subject of Hillary, whether it be her handling of classified emails or lying to say the problem in Benghazi was a video. If she, as stated by the FBI as to her carelessness, can't treat state dept. information properly. Then how can we feel confidence in her to be the leader of the free world?

Many of Trump's supporters aren't registered R's. Many of Sanders' supporters aren't registered D's. Right now the Republican Party is a train wreck because the guy at the head of the ticket isn't a true Republican.

If there is a war on cops it has been going on for a long time because this year is very similar to others in this trend downward. We are recognizing it now because a blowhard is using it to scare people.

 

Imagine all the negativity with the false hysteria: more police brutality, profiling, and shootings and possibly fewer qualified and good officers going into the field. Who knows what else? It's political pandering.

 

I've been on this Earth for a few years and I don't remember all of this "war on cops" stuff. The job of a LEO was much more dangerous then in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

Point taken. Do you really feel these police officers were not targeted? I remember one in Kentucky a year or two ago, it happened on an exit ramp from the Parkway. And another one last year in western Kentucky. But never so many lives deliberately assassinated in such a short amount of time.

I do believe they were targeted, but did Lanza signify a war against 1st graders. Holmes a war against movie watchers.

 

June and July have been tough but I imagine other months and years have been tough too.
