I will add this. If you forget about the candidates and just think about the two conventions - the vision put forth by the Dems was a lopsided winner. The Dem's positive theme throughout the large majority of the week and their vision that America is great was a big winner versus the pessimism, gloom, doom and anger at the Republican convention.

I have heard the word "dystopia" more often in the last couple of weeks than in the first 60.8 years of my life.

Yeah but we all know Trump's history of volatile decision making, unfiltered mouth, his ego. I don't know. And maybe you are correct but as I said, I've been voting since 1992 and I have never felt this concerned about a potential president. This is new to me. He genuinely scares me.

 

We've had his traits in presidents before, it's bluster. Others hid it better.

Common for the party in power vs the one trying to get it. Got to play the game. Both work for what they're trying to accomplish.

Watching Fox for analysis. Megyn Kelly is sounding like she's going to vote for Hillary. Never would have happened with Ailes still in charge. Is anyone more difficult to listen to than Brit Hume?

 

Kelly has been very unbiased the last few times I have watched her. I guess she has had enough of Trump.

I can't believe I'm typing this but......

Fox is much more balanced towards the Democrats than CNN is towards the GOP.

 

Of course Fox is for the GOP, but Cnn has a much more aggressive 24 hour negative Trump drum beat. It's not even close.

I didn't watch either convention 100% but I thought both were equal in bashing each other.

 

I did notice the audio to the Democrats convention. It seemed like the crowd noise was muffled. You couldn't hear clearly what they were yelling as easy as you could hear the GOP crowd.

Hillary supporters list Hillary's accomplishments. I can't think of any. All I can recall is flip flops and lip service.

Serious question.

 

Does the party currently occupying the White House always have their convention after the other one; or do the Ds always follow the Rs?

 

Just wondering, because it seems to be an advantage to go last. This year was much easier for the Ds than usual because the bar was set so low that the greatest limbo dancer in the world couldn't have gotten under it, but still.

I believe it has become the tradition that the party of the incumbent President goes last.

Disappointed by the crowd yelling "black lives matter" during the moment of silence for all falling officers.

 

Also the disrespect showed to the two military speakers was very sad.

 

These incidents tarnished an other wise good convention.

Even if Hillary wins, she will still be facing no less than four federal investigations.. Probably spend most of her term focused on keeping from being impeached.

The biggest takeaway from the two conventions is that the Democrats came together while the GOP moved further apart.
