Raceland 21 Ashland 16

Featured Replies

Luke Bonner's knee injury on the third play was HUGE for Ashland on both offense and defense. It looks like he may be out for a while. Ashland didnt make the plays to win, plain and simple. Turnovers and a penalty cost us. I thought McDavid did a good job at QB, but if all he's gonna do is run the ball with Cordle and Davis might as well put Mahan in there. The O-line looked pretty good and we were able to move the ball on the ground, but we wont be able to do that against better teams. We need some type of passing game.

They were having a dance at the Tennis Courts tonight, scheduled before the win.

I'm a huge Rambler fan and I understand the excitement with the victory, but I think the fire truck lead back to the school is a bit much for a regular season win that truthfully means little other than some bragging rights. It is not as important as a win over Bath Co. and we dont lead the team back with sirens blaring when we return from Owingsville.

I'm proud of the players and coaches. Congratulations on a nice win. But the district games and playoffs are the real prizes. Lets take pride in a regular season win, but don't lose our minds. We've beaten Ashland before. Hopefully it is a building block to success in the post-season. A good first step forward.

Go Ramblers....

I understand what you mean TBF. I do however think that they should do some celebrating (to a point), there imo is nothing wrong with this. This was a huge win for the Rams, no doubt. That is why I said in a previous post to enjoy the win tonight and now lets get down off of the cloud and get ready for wee 2 vs. Rowan Co..

Is there anyone on the internet this morning to tell me what a.m. station broadcasts the Raceland ballgame and what time it starts. I would truely appreciate it.

I may be wrong oldram but I think that it is 1040am and it is broadcast at 10:00am on Saturday morning. That is what it was last year anyway.

God is not a Tomcat. I was talking to my tomcat when I let him out this morning, and he said God told him he was on his own now. Something about wide right, Karma, and a Ram. I told my cat to stop talkin' to me 'cause it was freakin' me out. Congratulations Raceland. If you guys could jump up to 3A you could finish second in the district!! Francis, God (or plastic surgery) has been very kind to you!!

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are....that's funny!!

Congratulations to the Rams on a BIG Victory!

I will admit I thought the Rams could overcome Ashland in the next year or two, but not this soon.

If the past JFL seasons are any comparison to how the high school will turn out, then Raceland will have a couple of Strong years.

Plus, I am always up for anyone that can beat Ashland.

jeepman I have some excellent recipies for crow bc I have had to chow down on it many times through the years. I just had to make that post earlier about the space shuttle and the drinking though due to your post on the Raceland/Ashland predictions thread. No hard feelings (I hope).:thumb:

None what so ever. I wanted Raceland to win.. I'll eat crow like that any day.

TBF, I agree that we should not lose our minds over the victory but a win over Ashland is a big win for the Raceland program. The fire truck parade is something that has been going on for several years and the kids really enjoy it. It is just the way our community says thank you Ram players for a job well done and we support what you do. The coaches will see to it that the players are focused beginning on Monday but we should allow the kids a chance to soak up some revelation after many months of preparation for this game, IMO they deserve it.

Here is a pic of the Ram defense.

I was at the game , sat on the Raceland side and was stunned .... Raceland had better skill players , played harder , out hit Ashland.

Raceland kids were much smaller but had much more grit than Ashland.

Congrads Rams great game and wish you a great season .

Mvp i agree with every thing you said except better skilled positions,Ashland has plenty but if you cannot win the game between the tackles you will lose.Ashland was whipped up front on the o-line.When you get in the red zone the o-line has to get tough and punch it in period.

I hate to keep beating a dead horse ,but are o-line should be able to punch it in when a big play is made and puts you in the red zone.

Racelands coach said it in the paper ,the game plan was to be physical

and he was right on.

Again great game Raceland you guys were tough.:thumb:

Hope Bonner is ok.

I'm a little confused with this statement. Do they have a fire truck parade are every win?

Geat pic UKB, thanks.:thumb:

Raceland does NOT have better skill people than ashlland. Beach is up there with ashland's skill players but that's it.

Can you imagine that in St. Matthews?? The trucks wouldn't have any tires on them come December.
